Very interessting progression and Theme implementation !  The Boss fight is  interessting.
The enemies felt a little displaced (like not fitting in the enviroment? don't know why I got this feeling)  The traps  are cool!

really cool game! ^^ the weight mechanic is so unique, there's definitely something in that! especially with holding gears, which I didn't realise I had to research gears of different enemy types until after the boss haha :') I wanted to see everything but I eventually got stuck, after 2 green gears the only way I thought I could go was here (red X in pic) but the camera wouldn't follow me off screen? and my guy ran all the way along and then fell into oblivion, did I miss another way?


Also one minor point with keyboard controls the double jump was a bit awkward, I guess were just used to always using the jump button again for a double jump, and having to hold up and shift for the double jump just felt awkward, but it wasn't game breaking and just a minor point. I really enjoyed playing , and hope I saw everything :)

Yeah, I only managed to make content up to the boss (Gust), so you've seen everything there is to see. The bit where you fall into oblivion is indeed the correct next place to go, but I hadn't made anything and forgot to block it off. I also stupidly didn't put in a screen that notes that you've reached the end. I added a note in the description, but you don't need to go to the game page to download, so I suspect a lot of people have / will miss it.

As for the controls: I may need to rethink that. I modeled it off Super Smash Bros.'s up special attack, because the ultimate goal was to have the move be an upwards attack in addition to just a jump (though the current implementation is just a jump), so I wanted you to be able to do it without needing to jump first. I think it's easier to do on a controller, and shift is maybe not a great button for my purposes for keyboard controls. I'll have to do some more testing when I make it into the full ability later.

I also didn't get to the complete tutorial I wanted to make, so the fact that you needed to dismantle stuff for research was probably not well explained. But I'm glad you eventually did figure it out!

I am maybe doing something wrong but B button doesn't seem to work? shift also not. How do you use gust? Is it about double jump I sometimes manage to do or was it a glitch? Should I restart the game?

Ah also, your game doesn't work that well with lower resolution than full hd. The fonts become invisible.

The gust ability only comes online later (after you beat the boss), but it is the double jump, so you probably have been getting it right. You need to hold up when pressing B / shift. I modeled the control scheme after Super Smash Bros.'s up special moves, but I think it might have been a bit tricky to pull off properly.

Though I didn't manage to complete a lot of content, so once you have the gust ability, there's nothing else to do, so you're probably done.

Regarding the resolution, I didn't even think to test that! I was hoping the "scale with screen size" setting would sort that out. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll see if I can figure out how to fix it.

Actually I defeated the boss, got the gust gear and thought I was stuck, but now I have finally read the description (as a proper intellectual) and know that that's it.

Even knowing about smash, I still cannot properly execute double jump. Something's weird about it. I was playing on controller and tried on keyboard.

Anyway, very nice game, very cohesive, everything made sense to me. The idea is quite unique, and you probably can do a lot more with it - for example using heavy weight to solve some puzzles, moving platforms down, etc. The visuals and sounds are very nice too. The beginning of the game is a bit overwhelming, but it was understandable. The only thing maybe not that clear was the knowledge system, currently I thought it was a bit unnecessary.

I loled at the first missing boss;) Good job!

Enjoyed your 2D platformer! Gotta say that normally I hate them, as I've played so many that are really bad -- game jam entries and student works.

The character control felt really good. Kinda wished I could double jump or wall jump -- maybe it is a feature you can unlock, will have to play more to see if that is the case. Got stuck in a section that I had no way to get out of -- a double or wall jump would have allowed that. Regardless, nice metroidvania style level design. Nice graphics and audio design too!

A double jump equivalent is indeed something that is unlocked (though after that unlock is the end of what I managed to do in the jam). I thought I'd caught all the places where you could get stuck, but it seems I missed one! Do you remember where it was?

I know there's one spot where I trap you in an area with a workbench and a lever. The lever can then be pulled to open the way to the boss, and the boss's wreck gives you what you need for the upgrade. I wonder if it was there and the lever bugged out maybe?

It looked like there was some kind of conveyer belt in the background. After jumping down to the left and going in that direction, I found there was no way for me to get out. Up above I could hear some kind of machine, possibly spawning something.

This is a cool concept, I really like the follow-up slash animation.  The weight system is an interesting mechanic, and I like the melancholy vibe of the music.
