Software used
Unity as the game engine, Aseprite for the sprites and animations, ChipTone for some of the sound effects - others are listed in credits

Use of the limitation
I interpreted multiple applications as an object with multiple applications, so I implemented a shooting mechanic that both plants flowers and transforms enemies such that they become friendly.

Cookies eaten
Sadly no cookies, but a lot of chocolates and taffy maybe like 20 pieces idk. I will make sure to have cookies for the next game jam.

A cute and short game! I see great potential in this game! Good job, game dev!

Developer

Thank you so much!

This game is really cool! The art and sound felt really nice! I have one recommendation and that is that I would like Coyote Time. Coyote Time is when the player's hitbox is slightly larger than necessary! It makes jumps easier! (I say the definition because I've run into people who thought it was a power up.)

GG! I enjoyed it! The song was so cute! If you have time could you rate my game?

Developer

Yes, absolutely,  I agree! Thank you for playing!

Fun concept/story, great animations that feel satisfying and the music has a upbeat bouncy feel to it, like the gameplay itself, which I really enjoyed!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I can't take credit for the music - it is "Moe moe garden in the brain" by Nash Music Library, but I felt it fit perfectly with the game so I had to add it. It has a very "my last two brain cells" vibe to it which I feel fits with Bulbie as a character.  Thank you for playing!

LETS CONQUER THE WORLD WITH JOY AND FUN! :D

Super cute game. I like the change in the sky as you progress thawing the ice.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I thought it added a nice touch to see the environment change as you progress. Thank you for playing!

The animations are all round incredible - makes it feel really nice to play. Bulbie is a tad floaty which slows things down a lot and there's no damage feedback so I just felt like I was dying for no reason. However fix those 2 things and this would be really amazing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I worked really hard on the animations and I'm not really experienced in it so means a lot to me :) I agree, I must admit I struggled quite a bit with adding game feel to the jumping mechanic and it can definitely be improved, and the lack of damage feedback is also something I will change. Thank you for the feedback, and thank you for playing!

I might have enjoyed this game more than I expected to (though sometimes I can't tell how much I enjoy something). If you ever want to expand it, maybe do it. I might even considering buying it depending on how you make it (Nintendo Switch support would definitely help). This is a truly pacifist game.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I will definitely look into expanding it, because I think the game has a lot of potential, but it needs more to it. I will develop more on it in the future!

It's a really interesting game! Bulbie is really cute, and the different animations are adorable. It's a shame there aren't any elements to indicate when damage has been taken, it might be interesting to add some!

I noticed a few bugs while I was playing: if I jump and touch the edge of a platform while jumping, I can jump forever.  If I fall when I'm trying to jump, I can hover (I don't know exactly what triggers this bug). Sometimes Bulbie gets stuck on his return-to-ground animation after a jump, which prevents him from jumping again. You have to move to finally reset the character (I don't know what triggers this bug).

But all in all, it was great to play it, and I'd love to see your other levels and other mechanics implemented!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I agree, I think there should be more indication of damage taken. Yeah I noticed those bugs too, but I didn't have time to tamper with it unfortunately. I will definitely try to improve the game in the future.

Cute art! The game was a little bit simple, but I enjoyed it. Thanks!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I agree, the game definitely needs more to it, but I ran out of time. I will likely add to it outside of the game jam.

You've got a really fun foundation! And Bulbie is adorable! All you need is a little spicing up in the story department, and some more interesting levels. Some feedback would also be appreciated, because when I get hit, I don't notice (except for the hearts disappearing) Also, the enemies in the first and second level will immediately hit you when you enter.

Also, maybe I missed something, but what is the point of planting flowers vs just walking over tiles to turn them into grass? Maybe, if you decide to keep working on the game after, have plants do something like create alternate routes to complete the level

Thank you for playing! I agree, I was planning on adding feedback and some dialogue to the game to convey the story but I ran out of time. I will definitely incorporate this feedback at some point.

The idea with the mechanic was originally to allow the player to collect flowers with different possiblities of certain flower appearing and have a catalouge of the flowers and perhaps the flowers themselves could add another mechanic, but I didn't get that far unfortunately. Mostly I think the mechanic allows you to complete the objective in a multitude of ways - rather than simply touching every tile with the character you can also shoot them (which I think is really satisfying to do), but I do agree that the mechanic needs more of a purpose and I will look into it!
