Fun little platformer! Like the MegaMan inspiration, and the use of "sudo" command. Good job!

Great game. Reminds me of MegaMan and Cave Story. I love the sounds, I loved the challenge. I could never get the second cheat, but I did beat the game. The way you respawn when you lose health is unique, so they're more like lives. In any case, for a game jam game I would have preferred to not respawn for taking damage but only when I run out of health. I really liked the retro looking art, and I liked the platforming. But the moving platforms were a bit glitchy (acceptable for a jam game, I didn't mind). Overall I liked this game, I even played again to try and get the second cheat, but I never did. Great job!

edit: oh and I didn't like the controls, using both mouse and arrows and space was a hassle for me,  I would have liked if up arrow jumped to get rid of needing the space bar. then you just have mouse and arrows to worry about. I didn't mind Escape to pause though, since I rarely needed that after memorizing the cheats.

I hope this is the type of feedback you were looking for!

Yep, that's the feedback I was looking for! It really makes me happy to know that you at least enjoyed playing my game :D

And I see you've spotted that Mega Man inspiration. Nice.

Nice use of the limitation.

It would be great if you could recall the last command by pressing the up/down arrow like in traditional terminals.

Developer

Well, during development I was thinking that typing in a fresh command every time you needed it was part of the challenge, but looking back, it does get sort of tedious. Thanks for the suggestion!
