nice! difficulty level high right from the start for me, I'm a bit hindered in moving and as a result I died almost immediately

Developer

:) You might be right. I didn't have much time left to balance the gameplay before jam deadline, so I had to left it as it is.
May I ask whether you played the Vulkan or OpenGL version? If it was the Vulkan , did you encounter any issues?

Submitted(+1)

it was vulkan. at first i thought the flickering was an artistic choice but now that you ask me i think there is something wrong

Submitted(+1)

I'm sorry, I can't get a screen recording at the moment. it's like gray edges are piling up, like you are not clearing the rendering buffer. then on game over, there are some flashing spots underneath, in the background image. the dialog in foreground is fine

Developer

Nope, flickering shouldn't be happening :D
I'll be glad if you can share the screen recording when you got time. Thank you very much.

Beautiful game, fast paced! The arena is tougher and tougher to navigate making it more and more challenging, there are pickups though! I only feel for my fingers :D In that kind of games you shoot constantly and therefore it would be great to have a possibility to shoot by just holding down a button/mouse. Beside, I love it - addictive gameplay, great presentation, great sounds!

Developer(+1)

Did Vulkan version works for you, any problems?

HostSubmitted(+1)

Yes, Windows/Vulkan and Windows/OpenGL both are working without any issue for me ;)

Submitted(+1)

gameplay wise it would be cool to have some pickups  and to be able to hold down the mouse button for fireing    funny little game

Developer (1 edit)

Yea, it would be nice. I got lots of idea, but you know, I got only 4-5 days to complete. I spend those time to handle 3D trajectory, camera projection, light and shadow calculations, aabb collisions, separation, ui and simple gameplay. Most of the gameplay completed in 2 days. So it is basically a test project for Vulkan + new shader pipeline.

Developer

May I ask, did you try the Vulkan version, is it work, do you see any problems?

Submitted

After reading the reactions I directly went for windows openGL

Developer

I'll be glad if you can  try it. Looks like it works for most except one.

Is it possible to make a web build?

Developer

Yes it is possible, but I'll release it later on.

Submitted(+1)

The Windows build keeps freezing for me. Sometimes immediately when I launch it, sometimes 2 seconds later.

Developer

Could you please share you device specs(gpu-cpu and ram)?

RTX 3060 Ti, i5-12600KF, 32 GB

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much.
Definitely something wrong here. You are using Defold right? Have you ever try to build something for Vulkan with Defold? If so did you had similar problem?

Submitted(+1)

Sorry, I've never tried that :/

Developer (1 edit)

I uploaded 2 new versions for Windows. I'll be glad if you can try them, please let me know if anything act differently. Thank you.

-GO [x86_64-win32} -> Window = Not fullscreen using Vulkan
- GO [x86_64-win32} -> Window/OpenGL = Not fullscreen using OpenGL

The OpenGL version is working!

Developer

Hmm this is a bad news for Vulkan.
Did you ever experience problem with any Vulkan game before even AAA games? Is this can be a driver issue?  Releated to 3060 settings?

Unfortunately I don't have a Windows machine right now, I don't know what else I can do...
And thank you for testing.
