Art style is amazing. One of the prettiest games i've played yet! I think the game is made really solid, had not bugs or issues aside from some terrain exploits to help me win at the top. The only trouble I have with the game is how slow the mechanics are. It makes every fall feel twice as annoying because of how long it takes to recover. However the game is short and once you learn the mechanics it can be easy to figure out and complete the game. Maybe instead of having the character ragdoll, he just lands on his stomach to decrease the randomness of tumbling off a platform. Being helpless in the air and slowly tumbling of the edge of a platform can be highly frustrating. Other than that with a speedup of the core mechanics there is a high amount of potential for this game. I think adding abilities and making the double jump more consistent can allow for more creative map design! The more movement options the harder you can make your level as long as the jumps are fair and have consistent solutions with tight controls! Really excited to see where this goes as it is such a well polished and beautiful style. Nice work and the music was amazing. Wonder who did the music that guy must be a cool chad whose really buff and cool and nice and handsome.
kinda neat, liked farting
Pretty solid fit for the theme. Seemed kind of like a cross between jump king and something more physics based like Getting Over It. Also got some vibes from various jump maps for FPS games. Some parts were pretty brutal, like the falling platforrms that drop you all the way to the beginning if you stay on them too long. Good tutorial at the start -- everything felt straightforward. The only thing that was a little weird is what the threshold was for swapping between "falling physics" mode and "platformer mode" was. Like one time my guy was standing up and just teetered off the edge of a platform. Had fun, though!
Very challenging for me, but I really like the design and level! The sounds the character makes almost remind me of Minecraft villager noises. Were they made by the developer?
Haha, yes indeed! I recorded all the sounds myself, except for the double jump fart. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Abstaining from rating due to bias (had a hand in the music).
Man, this game came together so well! The sound effects and character animations are adorable, the controls are just the right balance of responsive and unpredictable, and the sense of progression from area to area is executed so well. The little launch effect is so hilarious and charming that it almost simmers down my rage as I tumble down one or two areas over a bad leap. It feels like the right balance between the Foddian theme and being a fun game, and I can’t wait to give it another go later tonight.
Tested on Linux, the game seems to run just fine in Wine. When I go tumbling down, I can’t blame the framerate or anything else for my own misjudged momentum.
I’m honored to have been a part of this game’s development, no matter how small my role may have been and only wish that I had a little more time to polish up parts of the music track.
