  • Fun little game. The first impression is that everything looks a bit blurry and hard on the eyes. The pixel art together with the low resolution of the game and the aggressive anti-aliasing don't play very well. Some of the text is near impossible to read. This could be solved with simply allowing the canvas to have a higher resolution instead of a fixed one. I found the fights challenging but in a good way. However, it's difficult to see the difference between the 2 different moves. The opponent moves so fast that they are constantly on top of me. Giving the opponent a bit more pause would allow for more interesting strategies than just running away and mashing the attack buttons. The sound effects and music are lovely.

Awesome game, I love wombats and how the facts are included between levels! A few thoughts I had while playing.

  • Very cool that you have a name entry option. We need to add that to the LittleJS UI system.
  • It could just remember your name. Then just have an option/button to change it.
  • Cool effects like the trails and particles!
  • I was unsure how to play strategically but managed to get pretty far by spamming jump and kick.
  • Slowing down the pace of the game could help with that, though I'm sure real wombats are probably crazy fast.
  • It seems like it is still not using the pixelated setting so the sprites and text are a bit blurry.

Awesome game. It runs great on my laptop and I'm impressed you got a computer controlled fighting opponent working. I really enjoy the procedural graphics. The attacking controls require a weird hand placement and are a bit uncomfortable. The AI is pretty easy too, a super attack is a cool feature however it just makes the fighting a lot easier. Fullscreen isn't working for me for some reason so I had to zoom into the page. I think a NES style fixed pixel scale canvas would take this game to the next level and keep the graphical fidelity more consistent. Great job, lots of fun to be had here.

Setting aside the blur, the combat is dynamic and fast, I like that. Personally I dont like figthings games, but I love that this is fast.

The picture is blurry, hope you can fix them!

Thanks for the submission! I noticed the result is a little bit blurry so you might want to enable both setCanvasPixelated(true) and setTilesPixelated(true). Increasing the canvas resolution could also help.

Developer

Thanks for your suggestions! I applied them, also added few other enhancements.
