hi I just had a question

I saw on the rules it said ai generated images aren't allowed but can I generate code? I've basically never coded lol 馃槶 but I want to have at least a playable product, but I'm not sure i can do it in the time given as I'm also busy studying

thanks for reading good luck!!!

I'm 90% sure that usign AI to create your code is usign generative AI, and one of the rules is "NO GENERATIVE AI ALLOWED EVER" also this defeats the spirit of doing a gamejam the whole point is to challenge yourself and learn. The point isnt to finish a game but to try making something, and even if you fail the fact that you tried is a win. <3

Jam Host

Generative AI includes images, writing, and code, basically anything you would ask an AI to make or generate for you. So you're not allowed to generate any code with AI, but there may still be ways for you to get by with as little code as possible.

If you're worried about not being able to code something in time, either pare the scope of your game down as far as you can so the code is as simple as possible (there are some tutorials online that will basically land you with a complete game in an hour or less!), or use an engine that doesn't require code like GDevelop, Construct, or RPG Maker. Playable really just means "can I run the game and does it do SOMETHING". It doesn't have to be good, and we'll be running the jam again every month, so you'll always have another chance to try something bigger when you have the time.

I really appreciate you asking for clarification on our no generative AI rule instead of just going for it! Good luck with your game and with your studies!!
