What is meant by 'theme of the jam'?

I'm really really new to game jams (and I'm exited to join in this one), and I have no idea about what theme of a jam means? Is it the theme of the itch.io page which will contain my game? Also, how would I add it while submitting the game to the jam? Please, I need help!

The theme is what your game should be about or what should inspire your game, i.e. a theme could be "Unfair Platformer" and you'll have to make a game that incorporates that theme.

Ohhk, thanks for replying :)

But, that means, we would know the theme at the start of the jam (14 days later), and then I need to make and submit a game based on the announced theme in the next two days (because the jam will end in two days after the start)? Or, I'm thinking something wrong??

The theme is indeed announced at the start of the jam, you'll have two days to create the game.

Ohk, thanks for the information :)
