I wasn't sure what I was buying but I guess I'm winning because I haven't died? I did like the look of the monster's graphics though... simple but effective. And the music rocks...like literally!
thank you for playing!! yeah i could have made the weapons more varied, ran out of time haha, basically the monster has a specific defence for each weapon type that gets raised by half of however much you had every time you beat it, i planned to also do a mechanic where its colour changes to reflect this, but couldn't get it working and needed to cut it
also the music was just some royalty free track i added last minute called !ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK 5 by Soundtrack 4 Life" haha
I like the concept, but the game seems impossible to lose? It's also not really clear that anything I buy makes any sort of difference whatsoever, everything just looks like it makes snowflakes on the Kaiju?
There doesn't seem to be an end either, I maxed out every stat and then just ended up losing (I guess because I didn't buy anything that round?)
I hope you consider fleshing it out after the jam, though!
yeah i ran out of time lol, i had to drop 2 concepts i had planned:
making the kaiju changing colour based on what it adapts to
having a "ultimate weapon" that would need to be funded alongside keeping up with the adaptations that when fully funded would take it out for good, instead i added a super simple day counter and said "see how long you can last"
could also have balanced it out better too
i might come back to this project to flesh that out eventually, was fun to work on!!

Intriguing game, I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong but I always managed to defeat the kaiju. I like the look of the pink kaiju emerging from the water.
thanks for playing!!! let me try and explain:
i was originally planning an ending requiring you to fund a weapon that could finally put it down for good, meaning you would have to balance funding it with keeping the kaiju at bay, buuuut i ran out of time, so i quickly just whipped up a day counter instead and said "see long you can last" lol
the code just takes whatever stats you had when you beat it and adds half of it to it's defence (but not higher then your current attack). After a point you WILL do 0 damage and lose no matter what, but so long as you make any upgrade you should be able to kill it in time.
I might make a revised version or a sequel to fix things i wasn't able to get done on time, it was a fun project :)
