For having a whole week of the Jam missed out on, I think this is terrific work. I like the way the tiny wizard flies so freely above everything else. Very cute. Only reccomendation would be to make the mouses target a little darker so it sticks out better against the sea. Very nice overall

Nice game! Like the mechanic of flying to where I am shooting at and the soundeffects are on point. Got to sink 56 ships.
The main character seemed a little small, even though it makes sense in Comparison with the ships and I didn't understand why the tower haslife regeneration. A spell or mechanic for that may solve the confusion.
Thank you, Erpel! The flying was a fluke I ended up loving and audio engineering is one of my strengths. The character does seem a little small. And the tower regen was leftover code that I wanted to implement with some kind of cool healing spell. So you're dead on about the reason behind it, though it wasn't communicated.
You are currently in second place with 54 ships! One of my viewers, AsteroidBuggs has 64. But you offered me a cheat code to your game, so I'll offer you one if return if you desire. It's a small advantage that could help you take first again. Lmk
Haha nice! You are currently in... 1st place again!
Thank you! I'm super proud to have pulled this off just learning Godot 4 weeks ago. I do have more projects in mind, but I wanted to see if this prototype got good reception, then I would decide to flesh it out into a full game with much more to it.
That's such a ridiculous story... a witch is flying around and tries to defend a tower in the middle of the sea against attacking ships, whichs sails are minimaps... awesome :-D
I've played the browser version first, but that was indeed very laggy, guess the main problem is the instantiation of the ships. To increase performance you could maybe consider just pooling them?
But windows version runs pretty well.
All in all it's a fun game, with nice graphics and sound effects. Great entry!
Btw: Nice idea to link your youtube and discord directly in the game, definitely will check out your videos. And hope your car is repaired in the meantime
Haha I had fun coming up with it!
Gonna add web builds and object pooling to my list of things to learn. You mention "sails are minimaps"... so I noticed this bug on the download version that did happen in-engine on in the browser, where the boat health bars are screwed up images. Is that what you're referring to? I have no idea what's causing it in the windows exe.
I'm really glad the game is fun for what it is, I was just glad to have something working with an end game. I'm also a musician so I wanted to make sure SFX were decent and brought more life to the game. Thanks for the feedback and for checking out the channel!
Car update: it's totaled and I'm looking for a new car currently. bummer.
ah ok, this is how it looks in my windows build. So thought it is by purpose a part of the map or so^^
I'm also new in Godot, so not sure, but based on Unity experience, i could imagine, that it's maybe something with materials or material variants or that you use accidentally something like a RenderTexture which shows the camera's viewport or so... (if these concepts are available in Godot at all^^) ... or because you say, there should be a health bar, also maybe should be a "world-scale" UI instead of an 2D/sprite element or so.?.. just random guesses, maybe something helps.
For the car: Damn, good luck with the new one :-)

The games run very choppy on my browser! At least the first minute after clicking the start, the rest is smooth sailing (except for the ships I destroyed). I really like the concept and the mechanics! Tho I wish we could have seen the tower explode or something like that once you lose all your health, haha.
When you pause the game on browser there's a GAME PAUSED sign that is misplaced and is cut in half due to being in the lower half of the screen! It doesn't ruin the playing experience but it's maybe something you'd want to take a look at.
Overall great job! <3
Thanks for the feedback, Diadantist! I noticed the choppiness in the browser too (do I need to use more preloading in my code?). I also don't know why there's no lighting or world environment effects either. (also nice pun haha)
Ah yeah I wish I had that extra week I missed! Would have loved to add more animations and polish like the tower falling or boats sinking. There's also another unused enemy boat type sitting in the files. The wizard also glitches out if you don't move the mouse lol. And I thanks for the reminder about the paused sign, I keep forgetting about that.
Thanks for the encouragement! I might expand on it later into a fully fleshed out and polished game if it has the potential.
Enable “SharedArrayBuffer support” on your game page settings so that web works :,(
