Lovely game! I think the inventory could use item stacking, and maybe resting could give back a bit of food? otherwise I've had fun exploring around, although a bit aimlessly I'll admit, its hard to tell when I've successfully explored an area. I also found that fainting doesn't really feel like a penalty, there might be a way to balance better the amount of food you can get, and getting penalized by fainting.
Otherwise, I really love the visuals, the idea is fun, and it seems like a lot of thought and work went into this, great job!

The pixel art is really nice, love the character sprites!
The energy meter seems a little too harsh, I didn't get much time to explore before falling asleep, but I love the concept!
