How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object ?
he given special object was "Cards" so I had the idea to program a card game, here the given theme "You are the monster" was important. Instead of having a hero fight a monster as usual, I decided to reverse the roles. You fight with monsters against heroes.

I liked the 3D background with the 2D sprites, it gave the feeling of moving through the dungeon without actually moving lol.

The concept can easily be expanded with different effects and enemy types, it's really cool. Some telegraphing for the enemy's damage could be a nice addition for clarity, kind of like Slay the Spire does it.

All kinds of animations will be implemened in the future.

Nice hover animation and cool graphics. Gameplay also quit good.  Good job

Thank you for your positive feedback.

Cool game! Like the mechanic of balancing between turns to get gold but not get killed. Also artstyle and audio is neat.

Thanks for your feedback.

Enjoyed the presentation very much. Clean and sounds good. Though I did have like 10 seconds of fun moving my mouse over the cards as fast as possible to spam the sound because it was amusing.

Game play wise, the game is fun and I like the variety of cards, but i feel the cost to use the cards is too high. having to buy a card for 10 gold and then use more gold to just use seems a little unbalanced to me. like i could have to skip my turn three times just to buy a card and use it once. And then you're just helpless because you usually need 2/3 cards to beat a monster so that 6-10 turn skips just to beat a monster when you run out of gold.

I think maybe a way to help would be maybe a little more gold from killing monsters, or maybe even killing a monster drops 1-3 cards.

Anyways all that is to say that there is so much potential here, and I greatly enjoyed.

I really like the idea of opponents being able to discard cards. That is definitely something that will be added. When it's implemented, I'll look at how it affects the balanceing of the game and then decide if the game needs additional balancing.

All in all it is solid. Nice graphics, and nice sound effects. I had fund playing it. I am missing some kind of hook to continue playing, some story behind, some real objective to keep me playing. I also missed some effects to make the experience more satisfying. I have recorded my play session in Playcocola, please check here:

First of all, thank you for the really detailed review of my game (You're the only one, as far as I've seen, who has recorded his review).

A story is already planned but I wasn't be able to implement this in the 5 days of the jam(My list of wanted was way longer than the time I had). To build a objective for the player I have the following ideas: Give the player rewards (or some special events if he survives X rounds, some kind of achievement system or a public leaderboard.

If you have other suggestions, feel free to share them by leaving a comment. All suggestions will be used for further development of the game.

Good game, I liked the idea and the gameplay, but it seems to me that it would be better to make it so that you cannot kill several opponents in 1 turn.

Developer

For the future, I plan to make some minor adjustments to the balancing, so I will take your suggestion into consideration.

Great Game and a creative idea on the theme. I do wish you could buy specific cards you needed back instead of random ones. It would further the level of strategy but great game overall!

Developer

I‘m going to continue on this game after the jam. My plan(to implement your suggestion) is that you can choose up to 5 cards out of 10-20 random cards each round round/turn to build up a deck. When your turn/round is over you loose all cards that didn‘t played and can choose a new deck.

Another idea(but I need a lot of more monster sprites) would be that you building a fixed deck system(similar to Clash Royal). Each monster has its own fixed stats instead of randomly generated per card(as it is atm).

Really nice game! The graphics were really good. Although I enjoyed the concept and the idea very much, I just couldn't figure out what I should do instead of just playing one card after the other.

Really nice aesthetic, well done!

Developer

The idea was that you play a endless dungeon. Sadly this wasn‘t doable in time.
