The gameplay is great. I had some trouble with the UI I couldn't tell which option is to leave. The opening felt like I was watching a cutscene in a Kojima game, in the sense that it was really long. I started to not read the dialog. Also, I couldn't figure out where to go after I beat the first level. If it's narrative you are going for, you would need to use some visual tricks to keep the player's attention. Like shorter sentences to read and clever storyboarding. Cool art style! Some more visual feedback is needed though to let the player know the characters that are friendly, from those who are enemies, or even an indication of a change of state.
Interesting experience so far! I made it through the (gory) opening minutes and into the village. I searched for the temple but couldn't find it, is it outside the village?
The temple is in the northeast corner of the village. It's the large building with the pointed-roof tower.
Ok! I did the quest and ended up killing the husband! Honestly, IRL I don't think any of the two deserved to die :) After killing the guy, all the villagers and guards started attacking me.. is that on purpose? I assumed that I was allowed to kill him since it's part of the quest.
There is a third path to the quest, but it's somewhat hidden. You have to talk to a character you wouldn't really expect to be involved in the quest.
Killing either of them is intended to turn the village hostile, like killing any other villager. There will be a way to murder either of them in a sneakier way that won't turn the village hostile, but it's not yet implemented.
A few notes on the new quest (very minor spoilers):
