The animation inspiration and artstyle really make the game stand out. The movement and punch animations were really clean, I like how animated it is.
Gameplay-wise though, definitely could have used some more meat and more feedback on hit. No sounds and no effects really hurt the feeling of attacking or getting attacking. I understand it was the time constraints that limited it though. One comment I had is that enemy spawns a bit too slow to the point where it’s easy to hit most of them before they even start moving, which made the game feel a bit lacking in urgency when I was sitting around waiting for the next lone spawn to hit.
I’d love to see something like this further expanded on as a game, good work!
Thank you very much. Those animations were fun to make. Though I'll gladly go back to pixel art now XD
I remember this Intro Animation and Artstyle from back when i first watched it XD Nice Idea to make a Game out of it. Animations look smooth, everything looks REALLY well made. My Nitpick would be the Gameplay itself. As other have said it is not clear if i hit enemies or not and the hitbox itself feels kinda weird. And maybe a Point System and/or Highscore could be nice to check on how well you did (As well as giving a Reason to punch the Enemies instead of just dodging).
Thank you very much. Yeah, I really like that video and it was the first thing that came in mind when the theme was revealed to be chaos. Noinimble was really nice authorizing us to use his work.
Did you guys make the walk and punch animations!? That is very smooth, whacky, and clean! I really enjoyed how tied everything looked together and the game is also very replayable! I ended up replaying it a number of times! :D
Kinda like how others mentioned in the comments below, the punch animation sometimes would straight up "miss" and I would not be able to hit enemies, so I ended up resorting in running and moving around rather than going out of the way to punch them. Additionally I think having more SFX would really help bring the game together!
Really funny and whacky game! I really think it was a nice demo!
Yes! I did the animations! Thank you very much! The walk loop animation took A WHOLE DAY to make! I'm happy that the time invested wasn't for nothing.
But the punch animation? That was just thrown together in a rush XD When I was thinking of an attack animation we didn't know how long would the attack range be yet. So I made this big, cartoonish, elastic punch (by the time it was a place holder with no color) so that I could stretch the punch further in case we needed more range on the attack :P
Animations were wonderful, a nice gameplay loop. I'd like there to be more interactivity between the enemy and kronii, I would attack an enemy and wouldn't know if I hit it or if it was just blinking in and out. Fun game!
Thank you! And yeah, we left most of the work for the last 2 days and couldn't really polish it.
I really like the pizza tower-like animation! It is very silly and cute!
The game is short and sweet.
I think it could use some quality of life such as a hit-indicator for when you hit an enemy since they are fading in and out it can be kind of hard to tell!
Fun stuff!
I'm laughing out loud because of how silly this game is.
Short but sweet! It kinda gives me Pizza Tower vibes. I do wish there was a more noticeable difficulty ramp up, or something else to spice up the gameplay as you wait for the bar to fill up.
This is silly, i love it. Blends very smoothly with the original animation.
Energized Kronii best Kronii!
I love the wacky exaggerated animations with its fun yet simple gameplay. Would be nice to have a simple score display to keep track of highscores.
Yeah, it was part of the plan but we ran out of time. And thank you. It was fun working on those animations.
