Gameplay/Fun (1 star) - I have no idea how to play this game. I saw in the comments that you press space to open chests. I did that. Now what? Blue squares chase me. Can I stop them? I have no idea. I collect all the coins a few times, and then ...? It's unclear.

Graphics/Art (2.5 stars) - there are 4 pixeled objects in this game: the player, the cacti, and the chests/coin. The enemies are blue squares. It's sparse/basic, but what is there is good looking. (edited)

Audio (1.5 stars) - like the graphics, very sparse. But there is also no music.

Theme (0 stars) - As I couldn't figure out the game loop, I'm not sure how to rate it on the theme.

Devlog (0 stars) -- no devlog

Hi there! I enjoyed playing your game and thought that it was a fun experience. I think the game could have benefited from a Game Over screen showing how long you survived/how many coins you collected rather than just dropping you straight into a replay.

I have rated your game… Please rate my game too…

Hope you would rate my game too…

Cute little "Bomberman" type of game 💣

Gameplay
It made me feel a little bit like Bomberman (as soon as I got the bombs hand).
It is a game where you have to keep your attention because otherwise you are dead...

I quickly found (as already written below) out that walking diagonally gave me a lot of advantages. I often had my fingers in a knot: WASD and the left shift are quite close to each other. Would have been nice if I could have used the arrows keys for movement as well.

I did have fun keeping myself alive as long as possible and bombing the enemies. But it was a bit difficult game. Maybe more bomb options would have been nice or more types of enemy.

Graphics
Simple pixel art, but homemade I think. That's kudos! Main character has nice animation, especially his hair 😁. The enemies could have been a bit more than a cube though. Maybe that was due to time constraints. But a face or eyes or another sprite would have been a nice upgrade already.

Audio
Sound effects help with the atmosphere. Missed an ambient background track though. Maybe an 8 bit retro track to go with the graphics would have been nice.

Theme
Enhance.... I can't see that well in the game....

Devlog
Unfortunately none. Would have been nice to see how you came to this game.

Overall Nice little game. Keep up the good work with your new projects💪

I love the art style and the game was quite fun to play once I figured it out 😄, an explanation of the game loop might help with that in the description if you don't have time during the development stage.

I noticed people already mentioned normalizing movement so I'll mention something else... Yay constructive criticism! I may be wrong but the player's side way animation seems to be clipped slightly at the end (ie the last animation frame doesn't stay for long). I find that in Unity's animation system if you duplicate the last keyframe so it lasts double the time you don't end up with the last frame flashing like that. I could be wrong and you might have already got that but I think I noticed it... Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Either way this is a very cool idea and the art is great (as I mentioned earlier), let me know if you need me to explain further what I said above or if you want any help on future projects (I've been working with Unity for quite a while)!

Also let me know if you publish a devlog so I can check it out and give you a higher score on that section!

Thanks for the tip I haven't heard that one yet!

I really like the main character art and the way the hair bounces up and down as you move around! It was pretty confusing having crucial gameplay instructions show up partway through. The bomb didn't seem to be very bomby, but it works in context. One thing I noticed is diagonal movement was faster than orthogonal, likely didn't have your movement directions normalized if it wasn't intentional. It felt kinda necessary to use that extra speed to keep away from the enemies though. I didn't really think the balance of chest income to bombs to enemies really felt right - it was more difficult than I think it needed to be.

I'm not sure I figured out what the bar in the upper right's about, but hey. You made a game with a complete loop, which is a feat in and of itself!

Do you know how I can make it so that you don’t go faster moving diagonally?(If you also work with unity)

Submitted(+1)

Whatever method you use to move, it's generally just add ".normalized" to the vector2 or vector3.

If you google "unity normalize movement" you'll find tons of explanations that are more in depth :)

Thanks dude!

And ya, I kinda rushed the instruction part of the game and I think I should’ve changed the UI for buying bombs. Btw its unclear but coins make you move faster and that’s what the top right icon is which I added for the enhance them

how do i play this

Submitted(+1)

go upto chests from front side press space to open

buy bombs 2 for 20 coins

place em

this is the basic game loop

was hard to figure out for me as well, because there were no instructions on game page and neither in game until you get 20 coin

oh a small prompt or even a line in the game page would have helped

i tried clicking right click using enter but somehow space didn't come to my mind
