A fun twist on the classic Flappy Bird game ๐ฆ.
GAMEPLAY
The game cleverly adapts the Flappy Bird concept with mouse-following mechanics instead of just tapping. The strategy of using a magnet on the airplane to navigate through obstacles adds an interesting layer to the gameplay. My tactic was to set the magnet on the plane and move it like that and that made the game more easy and I do not think as intended. Wanted to get as far as I could every time. That is a good thing. A disappearing cursor at the end, making it difficult to click restart, is a minor hiccup.
ART STYLE / VISUALS
The graphics are simple yet consistent, creating a coherent and visually pleasing style. The addition of extra visual effects, such as exhaust trails from the airplane or enhanced animations, could add to the game's charm. The cute propeller animation is a nice touch.
AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
While sound effects are present, the absence of a compelling background track is noticeable. A rousing or catchy soundtrack could significantly enhance the game's atmosphere, making the gameplay more immersive and enjoyable.
INNOVATION
The game stands out as a fun variation of Flappy Bird, but further limited innovation.
THEME
The theme is only lightly incorporated into the game.
In conclusion, this game is a solid entry for the game jam. Keep up the great work! ๐โ๏ธ๐ฎ
I like this flappy bird variation. I found it much easier to play once I figured out how to keep the plane far back from the right side of the screen to make it easier to avoid obstacles. By a crazy coincidence I used the yellow version of the same plane asset for my game XD.
Oh yes, you probably are already aware, but the cursor disappears on the final screen which makes in harder to click the restart button.
This is flappy bird, but like easier, but gj for the change in gameplay with the player following the mouse
