Game Description
Play as Merlin the Wizard to go get little King Arthur a new sword for his birthday

How does your game tie into the theme?
It is a highly abridged version of King Arthur and the sword Excalibur. We've run out of time so we were not able to show Excalibur at the end, but Arthur and Merlin are still in the initial release

For me it was fine, but I think the aiming at the enemy requires it to be too precise and it may get too difficult or frustrating at a certain point for some players. I wonder if it's better if it's more relaxed a bit.

I really liked this game though, I thought the mechanics worked well and it looks pretty good, nice job on the submission!

Super happy you added controller support!  I think the character bodies were too big, having a separate area2d that is larger on enemies for damage detection is the way to go so they are still easy to hit but less likely to obstruct.  That being said, it is what lead to my death and that outstanding animation.  Keep building those skills!

Really nice art in the game. Player death and cursor animations were really nice. It would be a lil better if there was some kind of hit effect on the enemy after shooting fireball.

The art in this game was a highlight! I couldn't get the other spells to work which was a shame because I was excited to see how they'd look and interact with the enemies. Otherwise I felt the challenge was pretty well balanced. Great work guys!

I love the wizard death animations and the look in general.

Thanks a lot! Our artist will appreciate those comments!

I also wondered about spells 2, 3 and 4! Good job for finishing a playable game and nice interpretation of the theme. I would suggest extending the viewport window to a 16:9 as that would give the player more visibility on what is coming up - the enemies seem to creep up on you a bit!

Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

2, 3, 4 spells has animation and costs mana, but does it work? nice progression, amazing art

Developer(+1)

No, they don't work. We barely managed to get a working game submitted unfortunately. Thanks for playing!
