How does your game tie into the theme?

This was cool! I think this might be one of the only Jam games I've seen this year to actually add in achievements, so good job there! I think it's a little bit of a stretch on the theme though (Easy fix: make the boat a spaceship that you've lost control of. Nothing else has to change).

It can be a little bit difficult to see some of the asteroids when you're below them, because of their black shadows blending in with the black background. I think a little bit of ambient light, or adding in a background of stars would completely fix the issue though.

Overall, great job! I had fun playing (Although I don't think I have the willpower to grind out 1 million points, I'll leave that for someone else lol).

Developer

Thanks ! Sorry about the asteroids, i might update them soon ! And for the achievements i added them because the game felt way too empty without. (the 1mil one is possible but you need to have some time to waste haha)

Ladies and Gentlemen our next game is "Space Boat" which is a... boat... in space. If you will, a space boat. It features a boat, in space, boating around through space. You collect yellow shiny things and...

Sorry, I'm in a silly sleep-deprived mood.

So, as an endless runner this all works. You can move, it's all easy to get and play, you have a nice looping soundtrack... cool

So, what next? Add some sound effects so I get a "reward" when I collect a shiny thing....

Increase the difficulty more obviously as you go on.. less rocks at the start, more as you continue. faster rocks, bigger rocks... something like that maybe

Oh and star fields, there are not enough star fields in video games these days - this game could have one ;)

Developer

mmhh...Good ideas...Star fields..

Cool game.

First, a couple of things I noticed. The score keeps going up in the start menu after you lose. Movement sometimes results in (slight) camera jittering. Viewport does not scale on window resize. Aside from these minor problems, I liked the game.

The space setting was interesting. In particular, I think that the rocks were really cool. Are they procedurally generated with a compute shader or are they grouped into "modules" and you permutate the modules?

The 3d assets were well done. I also liked the  start menu. The achievements were a nice touch.

Thank you for sharing this game. I had fun. (^=◕ᴥ◕=^)

Thanks ! Sorry for the problems. For the asteroid i have created multiple scenes with different x and y values and i have just duplicated them(in code not manually ofc) and set the y value randomly. Its an easy but not very optimized way

Well original idea... little bit of a stretch on the theme (just like mine)

I liked the asteroid graphics, but thought the target/yellow boxes clashed.

Real problem was the game just got boring after a well, did not notice a difficulty slope and honestly just gave up at a point.

Definitely has potential and could be made into a good game thanks for submitting, and hope you use this to create something great.

Developer

Thanks ! You get faster every 1000 till 10000 and then its every 10000 but yeah it still feels kinda slow because i wanted to make the 1mil score achievement possible

The idea was definitely original, and I loved the image of a boat into space! :D If felt a bit hard to control because, even if the boat responds smoothly, asteroids are dark and difficult to distinguish on a black background. Also, the 3-axis movement is always a hell to realize, but here I think you did a great job :D

Congratulations, a solid entry, I enjoyed it!

Thanks ! Sorry about the dark gray asteroids in a black background haha (it turns purple at 50000 points)
