How does your submission match the theme?
Charged attacks not only have better range and damage than normal attacks, but they can also deflect some enemy projectiles if timed correctly. In addition, charging your attacks allows the player to perform a dodge-dash, which gives the player more mobility, lets them cross small pits, and gain invincibility for a short time.

Third-party resources
The game itself was made using Game Maker 8.1 (because I know it better than Studio). The art assets were made using both Game Maker 8.1's in-program editor and Paint.NET. All pixel-art/sprites were made by me. Sounds were made using www.bfxr.net.

Contributors
The game was made entirely by Benjamin Maksym, AKA Linker.

Cool game! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

That was a really cool game. The mechanics and idea around it definitely has potentially to go beyond the jam and become part of a full fledged game. One issue I did have was the fact that it was pretty difficult to tell when you were being hit, and how much health you had. However pretty solid otherwise. Great job!
