The visuals have their own style wich is nice and pleasent to look at, the gameplay itself is quiete simple but the boss designs are awesome! Great job

Thanks for testing. I am very glad that you liked the graphics, to be honest, I drew them in the first.

Hello there! :) Привет!

How does your game fit the theme?
Да

Well, that escalated quickly! ;)
I think you should explain the link between your game and the theme.

By the way, I used an automated translator to understand your game page, and I think the translation was fair enough. (I know a bit of Russian through Duolingo, but my Russian is not at all up to par to read it yet, unfortunately.)

Here come some comments.

  1. Tutorial/Beginning: arrow keys are shown, although the controls seem to be only WASD. By the way, I have an AZERTY keyboard, and this unfortunately translates to ZQSD to me… You can generally program so that the physical locations of the keys will be taken into account, instead of the letters.
By the way, I think the way you show the drawn keys in game (instead of on an instruction page) is cool! It feels more immersive.
  2. I like the personal hand-drawn graphics and animation. I especially enjoy how the die roll is depicted (with multicoloured semi-question marks semi-Ankis)! :)
  3. As you say in the game page, too bad the bosses do not attack yet, nor move… The game is clearly unfinished, so we can only imagine what it would be like were it a bit more complete.
  4. I am not sure how the main mechanic (= attacking by throwing a die that determines the random amount of damage) would play out in an actual fight; I guess this would depend on how the bosses behave. And although it is visually original, I feel it may not be very innovative or fruitful gameplay-wise.
  5. Apparently, you can throw another die while one is still ‘active’. I believe you did not have time to adjustate this kind of details; nothing serious, just telling you!
  6. Death / The Grim Reaper, Cerberus… This reminds me of Super Castlevenia IV, or other episodes. Maybe an inspiration you used? :)
  7. Weirdly enough, it seemed Cerberus did not always lose the amount of health shown on the die; I wonder whether the bosses have some kind of random defence statistic.
  8. Ah, the game ends after Cerberus; which is coherent with the game description. (By the way, you can fall if you walk to the right, but once again, this is probably a symptom of the game’s ‘unfinishness’.)

I would say I really like the effort you put in the graphics and animations (including details such as Cerberus’s death, which is quite Castlevania-esque too); too bad the game is not finished. Apart from its being unfinished, I still feel the main mechanic may not have been that original, although I may be wrong on that count; please feel free to argue if you think it is original and why. :)

Hey, thanks for testing the game. It’s cool that you learn other languages, by the way I also used Duolingo to learn English, German, Chinese and Arabic.
In terms of originality, my friend came up with the idea of the game, and it sounded like a random word generator, and it carved out the word undead.

The whole game was created by one person - me. And I spent most of it on drawing graphics rather than code, although I’m more coder than designer.

With regard to keyboard layout, initially the control was arrows, but a friend who tested the game said that it was better to make controls on the WASD, as I did, but did not have time to draw art for buttons

He wanted the game to be under different languages, but again limited in time and there was no translation to the AZERTY keyboard.

The dice roll system originated in the process of creation of the game. The cube was originally in 3D, and the fact that he was replacing a player, it seemed like a lot of fun, but it didn’t look like a 3D cube, so I had to move the animation to 2D, and after the substitution, it was crooked, and I just overlaid the player with cube animation

I spent time drawing platformer details of 3 bosses and animation for everything. According to the story, the player dies and ends up in the lower world. he finds the artifact "cube" and with his help he deceives the choron "Lower World Guide" and passing the test reaches the castle of Hades, where he meets the first boss in the form of a cerbera. There was an idea of who would have the most number in the cube, and who would have the most advantage in the battle. After defeating a cerberus, and passing through a castle and a bunch of challenges, the player reaches Hades, who he fights with the same system as the cerberus, after the victory of Hades the player goes all the way to the river of life, but a horon appears he changes his appearance and becomes the final boss, he defeats us and drowns in the river of life, after which the player resurrects on Earth
All matches with other games are random = )

With the die roll, it’s a separate story, and I’ve spent the lion’s share of my time doing it, and I still don’t like what’s come of it. If I finish the game, I’ll change some aspects for a full-price game

It should be said that the graphics I drew for the first time, and especially animated, and I am very glad that at least it worked.

Thank you for your answers. :) It’s interesting to see how a game (or any idea) came to be.

I also used Duolingo to learn English, German, Chinese and Arabic.

Coincidence: apart from revising my Spanish, my true current target languages are Russian (the dual of your English :p Although I am French, as a matter of fact XD), German too, Japanese (connected to Chinese through writing), and Hebrew (connected to Arabic). ;) (I feel I really managed to achieve a useful little knowledge of German, especially in reading; Japanese and Hebrew are tougher, I need to train on more material.)

I am curious and keen on amassing knowledge; glad to find a fellow language-oriented person. :)

Hmm, so listen, let's huddle together on telegram and we can teach each other something, our languages, or work on common projects later =).

I want to be a polyglot, and judging by your interest in languages, so do you, and together we can make it a lot easier.

P.S. Here's my Telegram - @it_zumi

P.S. Lol, for some reason I have two games in a game jam - link

(Inspecting many replies I could not during the voting phase, I was ultra busy testing!!)

I am a super loner and neurotic introverted shy guy to be frank, but… hey, I have an interest in teaching people (various things), in learning Russian, and have programming projects (well, at least one big important game, but this is entirely personal). As for languages, why not. :) Projects is complicated business in my opinion (especially at a distance, although the two creators of The Stanley Parable worked this way!), but if we can practice / team up for a game jam or something one day, why not too. :) Not sure about this last one!

You guessed it right, I would be omniscient if I could. ^^ I’d be glad to answer your questions on French! :) Although that may not be one of your target languages… :/

I guess audio is very important too, but you have a deal for writing-reading. ;) (My talking would make me uneasy. I don’t need to take a test to know I have avoidant personality disorder, I’m dead serious. XD)

Weird! There does not seem to be a rule against it, though; I know Mini Jam explicitly authorizes it.

(Looking for the rules, I see the video on the final selection of games is out! I dare not looking at the scores, I know it’s not that important, but this is stressful. XD)
