One of the best games I played in this jam, it looks good, has good music and very satisfying sound effects. Weapons are satisfying to use. The feeling of desperately looking for which enemy got your dice while avoiding/blasting the other enemies on your way feels very good.
The game doesn't show mercy on ones hardware tho. An option to turn of post-processing is definitely needed. Global leaderboard is a cool idea. Great game overall, nice work
Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing the game! :D
Bit confused on what was happening but overall fun to play. Good job.
This is really good. The pixel shader is a little annoying, because it makes the image not look like it is rendered pixelated, but that the image was blurred then downscaled. Also the jump is really floaty, and I wished I could see my health, or have some way to recover health. The guns are pretty good though, and I like how it encourages you to always be moving.
Edit: also is that name a daikatana reference?
Hi, thanks for playing our game! :D
Yeah, I can see why the pixel shader is annoying. It's a combination of downscaling and pixelating the image. We did that as sort of a quick and dirty way to save on performance, since proper optimization wasn't going to be a thing because of time constraints.
Your health is actually indicated by the dice in the top left! You have 3 HP, and when an enemy damages you, you lose a dice, therefore lose 1 HP. If you kill the enemy which stole your dice, you get it back. That's indicated by the pink laser going through the enemy.
Yes, the name kind of is a reference to daikatana :D
