How does your game fit the theme?
2 things: You must use the magical Steltree to make larry's "Legs" longer which fits the size/scaling/things getting bigger theme, and more literally, you need to Build to scale the side of a cliff; an interpretation I found unique and funny.

Everything present in the game is made by me. You can tell, because the game is egregious!

Ludicrous long legged Larry! Laughing literally & laterally.

Lame laggards lollygag laboriously.

Lately loving limitations.

Interesting idea, the main gameplay was very straightforward and easy to pick up and seems promising if expanded upon, but the building stage doesn't seem to work for me. I can't get anything to happen during this phase and the game is essentially locked.

Developer

Can you explain to me what you mean with “essentially locked”? Are you softlocked, or do the buildings not work like you can’t place them, etc? I can’t update the game unfortunately haha but maybe I can help you in the right direction if you’re planning on playing again.

Figured it out - I think the shop screen was just so busy I wasn't fully understanding what it was trying to tell me or how to close it. Everything is working, just needs an improved UX

Developer

Thinking about it, I couldve probably made the instructive text bigger/bolder so the entire shop isnt mega bloated and you know what to read first, maybe even "unlocks later" so you dont get all 5 items at once

Bold, a different color, bouncing, really anything to draw attention to the right thing. Too much text at once can be very overwhelming, especially for your average player. I think having things unlock 1 at a time, or maybe you are given an option of what to unlock every so many runs could work.

This is such a fun game. It really reminds me of the games i used to play as a kid. I can't give it the time it deserves right now but i'm getting back to it to see how far it goes.

I would have loved to play this on a larger resolution to really appreciate the pixels. I couldn't figure out how to make use of the refinery, can you explain that one to me? The animation of Larry taking damage is hilarious btw.

Well done, and thanks for checking out our game :)

hey Aliviessa! Thanks for playing my game, it’s the first “complete” working game I managed to finish for the jam, so I’m glad you enjoyed it :)

as for the refinery, you need to mine an iron vein first to obtain some iron. They look like gold veins, but white. then move close to the refinery and press E which will convert them into iron rocks which you use with the right mouse button.

also, when you say larger resolution, do you mean larger window size?

Submitted

That makes sense :)

Yes, i mean larger window size with the content scaled up to fit.

Great game, idea is very creative, but i lack any sound or music. Great game. :)

Developer

haha I was planning to put in animations and sound effects, but unfortunately I didn’t have any time to do that, so I just focused on making the game playable. Thanks for playing!
