Fun take on tower defense in general. I've seen a lot of reverse TD games here, but this is the first that's abandoned the enemy path, and honestly it's for the better. I can easily see this being fleshed out into a full game!

Developer

Haha thank you for the comment, and yeah I definitely agree for this type of reversal doing without the path feels a lot better I do plan to flesh this out and continue work.

Great spin on a tower defence! It would definitely be interesting to see more units and levels to beat.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I do plan to add more units and levels to the game eventually after the Jam has ended

The concept is really interesting and well executed, although a few improvements could be made. I think adding a kind of "brush" tool to spawn more units at once would make the game feel much better to play. Also, the ram has too much health in my opinion, making it too easy to win. A thing to consider if you're going to work on the game post-jam is making the font bigger, so that people with worse eyesight can read the unit descriptions.

I liked the level design. It was also really satysfying to watch my units destroy the enemy fortifications. I would love to see this idea built up on some more. Good job on the game!

Developer(+1)

Yeah that is a good point, I might wont on a font or ui scalability settings for the game I will be testing out other ways to handle the UI. In terms of the brush I did want to add in the ability to spawn formations of multiple units or to have a draggable square to spawn units in mass unfortunately I did not have the time but it is definitely something I will look back at.

I do need to work on balancing to make sure the game isnt too easy or too hard. Maybe I'll work on difficulty types as well and see what happens. The ram is definitely a bit tanky at the moment.

Thank you for playing the game and I plan to continue work on this project!

I really enjoyed the game.

Is there more than one level ?

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing! Unfortunately we only got around to making the one level, but after the Jam I do intend to add more to the game

Submitted(+1)

I love it. This has potential. You have to work on the balancing, the game's speed and improve the presentation a bit. Keep working on it!

Developer

Thank you for playing, if you have any tips for types of balancing I could work on then I am all ears! We did have plans for other unit types but ran out of time, one was going to be a shielded unit that was a stronger barbarian and would try to stay infront of units absorbing fire form the towers. Thank you

When it comes to balancing there are no real tricks. You just have to play your game A LOT. You just have to keep tweaking damage, health, speed values until you get something that works. Also let other people play it in front of  you and look at how they play

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the advice, I shall definitely work on improving and getting people to play test as I add more to the game :)

Yo! That was great! I need to spend more time in it to work out the winning combo. I wish I could a little gold for each tower defeated for reinforcements, not a big thing though, great theming too. I felt like the orcs in helms deep haha.

Developer(+1)

Haha glad you enjoyed it and think you for the time to comment and review! I like the idea of towers dropping gold for reinforcements that sounds like a good idea and I might actually implement that thank you.

Really cool game, i really like it, but, when you have spend all your money, it's a bit long. Maybe Add a speed up button. Nice !

Developer

Thank you for playing! And yeah that sounds like a good idea to give players a speed setting thank you.
