Absolutely loved this. The narrative here is so strong, it's such a shame the game got so little reviews. Wish there had been more though-provoking jam entries like this one.

My main nitpick is the presentation. The graphics tend to glitch and the background music seems to speed up and slow down at random. I'm not sure if this is intentional or the music is, strangely, framerate-dependant.

Thank you for making this game. Well done!

Thank you!
Sorry about the graphics and sound, it's the result of unoptimized code running in an unoptimized emulator. Everything's done by the simulated CPU, and if it can't keep up things lag behind. I don't know why it flickers though, I tried adding an emulator feature specifically to combat it but it didn't work out.

Oh, I see now. I’m amazed you went through the hassle of writing a game in assembly! Hope you’ll figure out the problem

Super interesting! I’m impressed with how much is here given the length of the jam.

Definitely the most thought provoking game I've seen in the Jam. Very interesting ideas discussed here. I appreciate your more nuanced take on AI especially.

When I saw that the Costco hot dog price had increased, I knew that all hope was lost for society.

All joking aside, this was a really thoughtful take on a lot of issues that I actually spend a lot of time thinking about. I suppose it shouldn’t be too surprising that people who work on the same game jam would spend time thinking about the same issues, but the intersection of generative AI, our modern corporate culture, and games as a medium is a really fascinating area. Will generative AI be a tool to help creators create better games, or will it remove something special from the process and cheapen the medium as a whole? Will AI create a world where humans have to do less tedious labor, or will it just help further reinforce systems that force people to do menial tasks in the first place, even when it’s not clear whether this kind of work is actually doing any good for anyone? There don’t seem to be many clear answers but I think it’s commendable that you were able to create a narrative that tackles so many of these questions.

aaaa i really liked this game!!! I have so many friends who don't even have the chance to make what they want to make and get good at making it because they're too busy drowning in debt, medical issues, and work that demands everything but pays nothing.

the jump between the dream in your head and the real game you create is so huge sometimes, especially if you've been doing nothing but think for so long. its scary, i worry they'll always be too afraid to try. what if the dream shatters?

i think thats one reason why so many have latched onto AI, it makes the making part easier, closer and faster to whats in their heads. No menial downtime for them to lose morale. they have ideas and work worth expressing too, but simply don't have the time to express it nor the confidence to stand it if it isn't as good as they thought it'd be.

anyway random tangent over, really good game! the spacing between the lines makes it somewhat hard to read but it aint the end of the world

Nice work! I really liked the interpretation of the theme and the message you're communicating. The art and sound were great too!
