Innovative, but doesn't seem to go anywhere.

A complex entry but a really neat game premise. I would have loved if the headlines were more clear (or bigger), it was also difficult with paper grabbing other paper while moving but I learned to work around that a bit. Interesting idea. :)

Developer

Welcome to our submission to the GMTK Game Jam 2021, welcome to "If You Connect The Dots"! This game deals with the wild world of conspiracy theories and puts you into the shoes of a ""knower"" who just knooows that everything going on currently just has to be connected, everything just has to be 'joined together' (get it, thats the theme!).

You start with a bunch of (actually real) headlines of some articles spread over your pinboard, you have to find connections and correlations between the various articles and show them by connecting them with a string of yarn.

You can only connect headlines that seem to have some correlation (to you, in your role as a ""knower""). You can do that by left clicking an entry and pulling the yarn onto another one, if they belong together it will stick, if they dont - it wont. Double click them to copy a reference to the real article the headline is from and pull your mouse if you want to drag it as well.

Your goal is to eventually end up with a big web in which everything is somehow through some headlines connected to everything else.

Please be understanding if some controls are wonky or some intended connections dont make too much sense, we didnt really get to the polishing part frankly :^)

P.S.:

We have absolutely no idea if the winning condition works

Happy puzzling! Ignis144 and Novaya Finch
