This feels like a game that was made by an expert in metal trying to share their knowledge through video games

Love how the game talks to you at the same time it explains it's mechanics. Really nice concept, would play a post-jam update :)

Developer

Thank you! We're hard at work on a post-jam update, I'll make sure to let you know once it's out!

Very cool idea! I liked that you made a tutorial and some elements to synergy with each other. Very good execution!

Thank you! :)

Nice, I really like the idea and the artstyle :)

Really cool idea, I'd love to see an exploration of the concept with more alloys once the rating week is over (you could even make it a story bit about merging a bunch of different alloys to escape the dungeon). Your art is also great, but I wish the UI and text had been of a similar quality, plus the text was a bit hard to read in some levels.

Developer

Thank you! The idea is definitely to add more alloys and elements after the jam (in fact, we're already working on it). I agree completely regarding the UI, i made most of it and being a non-artist artist for the team i decided to put all efforts on the game art instead. Thank you for checking it out :)

Developer

Thank you so much! The text in particular not being to the same quality is down to me (a programmer) doing it as a sort of last minute way to add some information on how to play the game and explain the player motivations a bit more.

I'm currently working on a more powerful camera-control and dialogue system that will:

  • Let the player customize the text size
  • Add a dark background to the text to make it stand out more even when it overlaps with otherwise bright areas
  • Allow users to add their own translations to text

If there's anything that made the text hard to read that you feel like these two points does not address I'd love to hear it! :)

As Flashbox pointed out, we're also hard at work adding more alloys as that is a great way for us to add complexity in later levels while staying true to the core concept of the game.

Thanks again for the feedback! If you've got any more of it, feel free to let me (or anyone in the team) know.

Really liked the sound effects. Really creative idea. Interested in seeing how this game could expand. More elements with different properties? A reason to break back down into two pieces again? Game has so much potential if you were to continue development

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The idea is to have more elements and more possible alloys, like brass or steel, in the future. Som puzzels (that didn't quite make it in the 48 hours) will have you pass through bronze only obstacles and then need to go back to the individual elements for the rest of the level.

We will keep working on it, stay tuned on this page if you'r interested in playing more. Anyhow, thanks again :)

Very nice core concept! I would love to see more levels. Also, the music and sound effects were top notch, and I like that you went the extra mile and had interesting lighting. It added a lot to the atmosphere of the game.

Thank you! I have forwarded the credit for the music and sound to the music and sound guy respectively. We have tons of ideas for new levels which we are in the process of adding, ran out of time for the jam sadly before we could get them all in (as is always the case isn't it?)

Thanks again!
