Initially it was not quite clear but I enjoyed it.

I would like a bit more of speed maybe not exactly have them tied up but keep it within in the area.

Love this idea! Great music! Would love to see this fleshed out as a full game, perhaps a roguelike with different types of monsters with different abilities that could be tethered to you?

Hey! This is really good! It felt like I didn't really have control over whether I took hits on my monster or not until I realized that was exactly what the push-away beam was for. You created this nice little equilibrium where the monster often follows at juuuuust the right speed to take bullets that had been meant for me, and it was my job to disrupt that equilibrium whenever possible. This is slick af.

In terms of critiques, I'd say my biggest note is that your game overstays its welcome a little bit, particularly for a jam. You guys made a LOT of levels for the time allotted, and that's impressive! But also as a player, it means I've got a lot of content to get through before I can feel like I've completed the game. In a project that had been given time to breathe that's fine; more levels! In a project with a 48 hour life span though, it can end up being a pretty strong drawback.

In this case particularly, from the first level with the big red guys onwards I kind of lost my sense of progression and escalation. The number of obstacles and enemies gradually increased, but it all kinda muddied after the following 3 or 4 rooms. I guess in some ways this becomes almost a question of man hour allocation and editing than just design; how many stages could have been cut without noticably changing the game? How much of that time could have been put to features or bugfixing?

All that said, you guys still did a superb job. You made a whole-ass game, it works, it's good, and you made your own sound and art to boot. With some tweak and polish this could become a twinstick worth remembering. <3

REALLY appreciate the kind words thank you so much! That was really nice of you to leave a review like that. We were really proud of what we were able to come up with especially with this being our first jam.

Your feedback is great. We agree completely, in a sense its "cool" that we had so many levels/rooms but that was just the result of us creating a system where it became very easy to do that. One of the things that we really regret is not allocating enough time to play test, and after having been able to calmly play the game in the post jam hours, we agree completely. We need to mix up the enemies a little bit and give more of that sense of progression like you said. The game plateaus a little quickly, and with just a bit more attention I think we coulda straightened that out.

Again thank you for such a nice review,  it really really means a lot to us!! :D <3

It was really fun playing! Also good choices for the soundtrack it helps really much the esthetic of the game. Great work !

I think some additional HUD would be great. Like a cooldown indicator for the dash and a custom cursor for visibility purposes. And i would like the controls, player speed and projectile speed to be a little tighter and faster. I love the Concept and i can imagine it being more fast pace so you run, shoot and dash like a maniac around the level to protect the monster (and yourself).

But still, thats a great submission. Awesome mechanic fitting the theme so well and I love the music!

Thanks so much for the feedback! We wanted that dash timer really bad but we spent time cleaning up the bugs that we could right up until the submission, that said we agree completely.

Super interesting idea! Definitely a challenge to make the enemies not hit the guy you are attached too, but its really fun to play! Also the music is soo nice to listen to, like I would listen to it outside of the game on my own time. Overall really cool submission!

Thank you so much! Derek really knocked it out of the park here. We were fortunate enough to have a dedicated musician on the team for the jam, feel free to check out his other stuff here! https://derekmoss.fanlink.to/Music

So much fun! Making sure you keep the monster man alive made for some challenging & strategic gameplay at times. I loved using the mirrors to swap bodies & using the rocks to keep Mr. Monster safe. Great ideas, great design, and overall a fantastic execution!

& THE MUSIC. IT'S SO GOOD.

Awesome game! The music was epic and totally made you feel like a boss. The art was nice and simple, fitting the vibe really well and the concept was great too. All I could see to improve is alter the difficulty, possibly adding more weapons, health pick-ups and more use of mirrors (they were great, but too limiting as you can only use them in certain rooms). But overall, pretty great!

Presentation was not the best, But aside from that this game is fun and original. Great job!

Also would like to see more use of the mirror feature.

Really fun game. If I get nitpicky, arenas could be a bit more diverse. Nice job!

Developer

Unfortunately we had some more enemies that got cut due to time. Stay tuned for future versions and see the unveiling of peanut man! ;D Thanks for the feedback!

Great game. The music was poppin'. Encountered a few small bugs along the way but that's a given with only 48 hours to work with. See you in future jams :D

I like this game! Great gameplay! Good job in 48 hours

Please check my game as well ;)

Developer

thank you! We’ll be checking it out shortly :)

This game is amazing for the 48 hours given. The bugs are acceptable since there are a lot of awesome features.

solid game, but the movement could have been a bit faster and a meter indicating the availability of dashes and punches would've been nice.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, we agree completely! Those were among the last few things that got cut so we could make the deadline. Dash meter especially we think would’ve been huge.
