Even with explosions the Windmill is still so dreaded! I wish there was a stroke counter or something visible while I played otherwise I am more temped to do small explosions and slowly move to the goal. Then again, the big explosions is where it is at except after level 1 all the explosion sizes start to feel like the generate the same force but it was still enjoyable.

This one stands out to me as a good game for multiple reasons. Despite the rather tight time-schedule, it's clean, it's got tight controls, and things are laid out in a progression that makes things understandable. Moreover, the graphics are simple but still clean and appealing. I really enjoyed playing this and think a full game like this would be a lot of fun.

Despite all of this, though, I really don't feel like I can give this a rating above three stars because it doesn't really follow the prompt. This game is "golfing without golf clubs" but the removal of golf clubs is offset by the addition of explosions. That's fun (and looks really nice in-game!) but... what's changed? I notice that the gameplay here is really similar to existing golf games—clicking to propel the ball. There isn't truly anything that's been removed.

In short, great game design and great visual design, but it doesn't really fit the prompt.
