Great game! One use abilities for a runner is interesting, though I wish the different abilities had their own effects and animation instead of just the simple 3. The way the Main Menu tilts with the mosue was nice polish.

The fact that everything was done by yourselves is awesome and really good work, the music, enviroment and character were great, though the SFX was a little too muted and not impactful enough. The UI is nice, clean and minimal.

The Highscores doesn't seem to work.

All in all, it's a simple game with really well done models for the enviroment, nice animations for the character, good design spacing obstacles and ability collecting, I was a bit surprised it wasn't an endless runner but considering time it's fine. Great job on the game!

Yeah,
We had big ambitions for all sorts of things, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, and some things ended up cut.
We wanted to add different models and animations, but the rules of Polish week seemed to err on the side of that being frowned upon, so we kept them out.

Adding an Endless mode is something we could probably do in post, but we're uncertain if the jam rules would've allowed it, so we've held off on it for the time being.

I'll pass on your compliments to the art team, they'll be pleased to hear that you liked it.
Cheers

It looks like there might be some good here, unfortunately, the game is too raw to really experience it. I would really like to try an improved version of it! I hope you keep the development going, at least till you reach a well-polished version :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks,
We're looking to have 2.0 out by Friday, and might do some more refinements beyond that once the restrictions of the Jam are lifted.

It felt raw to us too on Sunday, but we wanted to make sure all the core components of the game were present so we could polish them up this week.

Hey, I gave it a go, and I'd say that it is an interesting take on an autorunner, with picking things up that you can only use once. It made me think a little and try to figure out which item would serve what purpose.

I do have some recommendations for your polish phase. First of all, the UI doesn't seem to fit the 16:9 aspect ratio, with half of it being clipped in the main menu, but I was able to play the game without any issues with it.

I think also personally I found it a bit slow for the character to respose to my ability "commands" - that is I had to select it relatively early to be able to avoid an obstacle.

The men in black were pretty funny :) Also the ending renders are good quality, I personally enjoyed them.

Edit: Sorry for the spam in notifications, I accidently posted the comment multiple times.

Don't mind the spam at all. We'd rather more information than none at all.

Were it not for the internet outages we suffered over the last two days, We would've been able to implement a UI element that would hint at which item tackles which obstacle. So hopefully that'll improve the experience for 2.0

We only noticed the non-16:9 issue about an hour before submission, so there was no time to correct it, but it's good to know it didn't stop people from getting into the game.

We'll add the sluggish feel of the commands to the Trello. Thanks for pointing it out, we wouldn't have noticed this otherwise

HAHAHA he's a funny little dude. The men in black were well-modeled and it was a clever use of the theme.

Many thanks,
The Men in black were a personal favorite of the team as well.
We wanted to make them much more involved in the game, but ran out of time unfortunately.
