Good job man! I'm surprised by how much fun you squeezed out of running in a straight line. I got to the end on my second attempt.
Movement felt nice, though for me running out of power felt like a bigger threat than the enemies (which I could dodge with relative ease with a bit of strafing left and right).
Running out of power was balanced well in my opinion, as I was always looking for the next battery and I was anxious every time I missed one  (will I be able to make it to the next one before I run out? :o )

I was very pleasantly surprised by the endgame platforming section, I wasn't expecting anything like that, and failing would mean starting all over again, so the pressure was on.
Atmospheric audio, and minimalist graphics gave it that unrealistic, cyber-spacey feel which was really nice too.

I'm not sure the arrow pointer worked as intended, as it always pointed me to the start doorway, all the way to the very end.
(I'm was  running the windows executable build on a 4k display if that's of any help)

Thanks very much!

The arrow was originally added to show where you were being chased from. But then the idea changed and I forgot to adjust or remove it.

Thanks for playing!

Interesting Game, The WebGL build could use some optimisation work I think but overall game was ok. I think the battery pickups should have been more obvious and potentially a less drastic slowdown when a button is released

Thank you for the feedback!

Quite an interesting concept.
Really clean and super easy to catch and know what to do as well.
Good job!

Thank you!

This was a surprise for me. My first impression was dismissive, but the minimalistic narrative text bits got me going and then I started to see the post-processing distortion and the environments start to change as reality fell apart. It's a simple runner with a bit of platforming and a super simple narrative, but put those two simple components together with your execution and you get something a little more than the sum of its parts. It got that point across in a short amount of time too. I think it fits the theme quite nicely as well. I really enjoyed the overall experience and rated it well. Nice work. The visual storytelling through the gameplay is this entry's strong point.

Thank you very much!

Yea the arrow was meant to tell you where you were running  away from, but now that I think about it that's pretty counter-intuitive. :D

Wow :) I am a fan of matrix so this game went deep to me) I really like this "1011000" style, levels look good overall. Cool to have acceleration, that camera tilt, taking energy from enemy hits instead of killing and two plot twists in the end, all of this make it great experience!

Some remarks on improving:

  1. I prefer more actions because now gameplay is kinda empty as well as world
  2. Personally i also found that not having clear boundaries when going to the left or right is a little annoying because im kinda manchkin and dont like to have unexplored places)
  3. Once i were not running forward in according section and went left and have to start over again, i dont regret to take another go but checkpoint system would be appreciated
  4. After a while you need to jump and im not sure if you was mentioning it in game (but the thing that it was everywhere else where needed is cool for jam)

So overall great game, thank you for it)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you picked up on the matrix vibe :D

I totally agree with your feedback. I think it was a case of putting too much time into certain aspects and not others (such as the world). As the idea changed mid way through development a lot of the things ended up having to be changed. I actually started with the movement and the game was built around that (which I had never done before), I agree that there should be some kind of tutorial for what the player can do, such as jumping, and more opportunities for the player to use  these features.

Thanks for the feedback!
