I found it very hard to understand what the objective was. The gameplay could've been better and more interesting.  Nonetheless, I did enjoy this game and the artwork, especially the background, was great! Not a bad game jam game.

Pros

  • Great atmosphere established by the sound effects and dream-like visuals on the opening scene / ending scene
  • Use of colour on the backgrounds was excellent
  • Mood was coherent throughout the game, slow movement speed helped coincide with the hopeless and dreary tone
  • Player was small to help imply feelings of weakness and isolation to the players, further constructing the tone

Cons

  • Very little opposition to the player's objective, there wasn't anything, other than the maze itself, preventing the player from reaching the goal
  • Interesting concept of a maze-like game, however the core idea wasn't explored to its full potential and left out a lot of interesting possibilities
  • Lack of visual effects to help add life to the game, perhaps consider particle effects or a portal for when a player spawns or particles such as fog to help further enforce the atmosphere

This is pretty good for a first game jam. The concept was really unique and the atmosphere was fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more games from you!
