Welcome to round 2

Round 2 is all about player engagement, the goal is to keep the player playing for as long as possible. In round 2 you'll be building on your project from round 1. 

What do I need to make?

The video above will outline the round 2 task. 

Round 1 Task - 1st - 15th Jan 2022: Create a playable character with a unique ability.
Round 2 - 24th - 31st Jan 2022: Create a 'toy' for your character to interact with.
Round 3 - 7th - 14th Feb 2022
Round 4 - 21st - 28th Feb 2022
Round 5 - 7th - 14th Mar 2022
Round 6 - 21st - 31st Mar 2022
Round 7 - 10th - 18th April 2022
Round 8 - 25th - 8th May 2022
Round 9 - 13th - 20th May 2022
Round 10 - 1st - 15th June 2022

Who will be judging?

Like in round 1, the community judging will determine the winners... and losers... If you make it through you'll receive an invite to round 3. Good Luck. 

How many devs will qualify? 

At the end of round 2 we will be losing 20 devs from the competition. 60 Devs will move on to round 3.    

How should I judge the games?

Judge the entries based on how long they kept your attention. The long you want to play the higher the score they deserve.

FAQs

1. Can I modify my round 1 character to fit my round 2 idea? Yes you can. You can modify it all you like but try not to create an entirely new character.

2. What do you mean by a toy? A toy can literally mean anything you like. Think of it as a game object that can be interacted with by your player. Make it fun and interesting to play with. 

3. What if I can't make anything? It's fine, you can either withdraw from the competition by not submitting or just submit what you have.

4. Should I make a game? No, try not to over-think it. Making too much may end up causing you problems in later rounds. 

5. If I have other questions where should I turn for answers? You can join my discord or use the community section of this jam.
