  • Really dig the concept of elements countering elements. Tutorial intro is such a great way to play without initial punishment. Be cool to have a tutorial that may be a smaller/simpler circle version of the real one. Not dying in tutorial is a great feature. Sprites are well placed I feel and would love to see them more in the white circles and ground as well! The varying chaos of maneuvering around obstacles really fun to navigate. It's a bit random at times I feel but may benefit from other pattern cues. Most seem like a line but maybe you can do circle emissions or zig zag movements. Obstacles are super fast at first. Maybe slow down and speed up after a few elements are collected. Overall really like the concept and where it's going wonderful job!

I could not figure how what we were supposed to be doing at first, so I think maybe I just can't read.  Your animations are SO CUTE

Oh no! I'm sorry that I didn't make the tutorial clear enough, but I think I've learned some important lessons from this on how to better guide players and teach them the correct mechanics. The way the game is meant to work is you're meant to take elemental powers from one altar and go to the altar opposite it to shut that altar down. For instance if I go to the water altar I get the water element then I go to the Fire altar to shut down the fire.

I really loved the idea in this game, having to slowly disarm your enemy is such a neat concept! It was great seeing things slowly get calmer, it made for a refreshing change from games always getting harder as they go on. The bullet time addition was great too, it made the game a lot less frustrating without making it too easy, and giving statistics for how much you used was a nice touch. I appreciate the lines on the ground too, they really helped make the connections clear along with the tutorial (though I went round them backwards at first :P). All in all it was great fun playing this, and there's a lot you could do with the idea, great work!

Thank you so much! You really grasped exactly what I was trying to accomplish with all of these things which makes me really happy lol

I liked the graphics in this game!  did you make them?

Developer

Most of them no. The things I made were the hearts, the giant metal balls, the vines, the little wasd poster, the puddles, and the fire

Them visual! love the animation and the idea behind it. Making the elements work with each other at the beginning as a test is pretty darn neat. Great job overall, nice movement, nice looks, nice mechanics. Oh and the CALM integration is pretty darn slick! The one thing I would like is to have seen was a sort of "tempest" creature,  it would've add a little "oh this is what I'm fighting". Perhaps there was one if I didn't get killed constantly lol!

Oh and the Slowdown mechanic is really nice, love the visual concept for it too.

thank you so much for all the praise and for taking the time to play! I did originally want to have a big cloud serpent in the middle but I couldn't make something I was happy with in time

Calming the tempest is a great concept, and I love how well it fits with the theme. It’s challenging, but the lines are good indicators. Well done :)

Thanks for giving it a try!

Love the commitment to the theme, very satisfying to calm down the tempest. Cute dialogue. Loved the tutorial art also. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! Were you able to complete it? I might have made it too difficult.

Yep! I used space heavily to start and ran like mad, then stuck to the edges and crept the rest of the way when that ran out. I was down to 1 health point but managed to get to the last shrine thingy.

I like that it has a tutorial, has some difficulty, and the character animation is nice. Great job
