How does your game match the theme?
The theme is space and the first thing that I imagined was aliens which is the player in this instance.

Nicely put together. The controls are smooth, and the primary gameplay loop works well!
The game might have been a little more challenging if the timing of the two cannons was not identical. That way, you have to dodge one, then the other.
When it comes to the color scheme, the player character blends in a lot with the background. Of course this isn't a huge problem once the player begins to move, but in general you want your player character to look distinctive against the background.
There are a couple of elements that probably go against the jam rules: the way the cannons rotate freely is not in keeping with the 160x144 resolution rule, and the need to click "Start" with the mouse is not in keeping with the Gameboy controls (there might have been another way to start the game, but in that case I just couldn't figure it out! :) ).
What a fun little game! And great job on your first jam project all by yourself! I hope you enjoyed the process (even if it can be hectic).
Because of the game elements going out of the screen, the aspect ratio does not become like 160x144, but it's still ok since there is simple yet fun gameplay. Music and SFX were alright, and I really like the pixel art, it's cute.
Overall I liked it! I hoped you enjoyed the jam!
Fun little game :) Mechanics are here and even tho you didn't had time to polish and make it totally feel like a game boy game, it's a great progress for first project on your own!
Congrats
Nice first project ! it's too bad that you need to use a mouse for starting the game. A little more mechanics and graphic elements would have been nice.
