  • This game has so much charm! Cute characters, wonderful concept with plenty of room to expand it further. A/B to rotate would be much preferred, and sound would have made a big difference (even short blips).
  • Interesting idea, mixing Tetris and cats :) However, lack of audio and control issues like having to use up key for rotation are a shame. I hope you keep working on this, since it could be a good game with a bit more of work.
  • Genuinely hilarious, I laughed out loud playing this. Reminds of what it is like as a developer testing my own game. It is clear that a lot of love and hard work went into this game. A joy to play.
  • Nice twist to Tetris, though using the same colours for different pieces makes identification harder.

Jam ROM submission

Ok - understood! I attached the GBA ROM file as "MYGAMENAME_jam.gba".

I think this is a great idea for building on the core of tetris, it has a nice style and a fun concept.

I'm sure you've heard this a lot already but yeah, A+B should be for rotation, kind of leaves the right hand with nothing to do without that.

Here's an unsolicited level idea too, once a line is cleared, clear the line blocks but "forget" to move the pieces above the cleared line down.

Thank for your feedback! Your idea is awesome. The A+B issue have been solved in the non-jam version. That will also be where the next features will be added. Your idea is awesome, I'll definitely count for it in the next updates!

Thanks a lot!

This was a very charming game idea. I do really wish that there were options for more control schemes, a and b for rotation would help out a ton.

Thank you for your nice words! Sure, I've just set the piece rotation on key A/B as this is the easiest fix I can do to the game.

Great idea for a game!
The controls could use a bit of work, here are some suggestions:

  1. Moving rotate to A or B like in other tetris games, so that your left thumb isn't doing all the work
  2. Adding some sort of auto-shift/auto-repeat to left and right; the lack of this plus the fact that the pieces spawn on the left means that you have to press right a bunch of times to place something on the right edge of the board

Some sound effects would really help a ton too, but I'm sure you know this and time constraints were the issue.

The graphics were pretty fun too! Interested to see where this goes if you keep working on it.

Hi! I strongly agree with all of your points, the game is literally screaming for some good retouches. I actually had the impression I've already made the pieces spawn in center, but guess that happened just in my imagination (the jam period was quite overwhelming for me in terms of things to do haha 😂).

Thanks a lot for your insightful feedback! And stay tuned for further improvements!

(Later edit: I re-read the code and can tell you that the pieces are intended to spawn in center starting with Level 4. This was an intended feature to give the silent impression of a "work in progress" game.)

Interesting concept, but I kept wanting to just play tetris, and those stupid cats kept fucking it up :)

Thanks for trying it! It's a premature game, it misses dozens of plammed levels with puzzles & stuff, but it is what it is 😅
