Awesome job! That's a bit of unique game play there with the controls.

Really cool concept! i liked the reverse gameplay of losing your stats as you do worse! are you planning on diving deeper into this game after the jam is over??

Developer

Thanks, I had the idea a few months ago of making a game where you start at max level and get weaker, but need to find balance by finding gear to use.

The jam came along just at the right time to test out that design.
If I get positive feedback overall for this design I'd like to make a proper size game using that concept, with my own models, weapons and equipment and many levels (maybe start at level 50 instead of 10), but I just wanted to test the idea first.

Capsule man (with armour) is really a prototype of that.

Interesting idea and liked the controls. Really good job making this in such a short time. It was slightly too dark (as in literally - brightness-wise) for me but no big thing. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks, yeh it would be difficult to play it in a bright room, I had to keep the room dark to test it :)
Glad you liked the controls, after testing it myself it started feeling really intuitive to turn left and right with the mouse buttons, I might try this again in other games.

This is an interesting concept which I enjoyed playing. I played twice and won both times so maybe tweak the difficulty to make it a little harder? I feel animating the characters would help immersion but it didn't detract from the experience too much. Good job with the submission.

Developer

Thanks, the challenge is to win the game with the maximum numbers of levels remaining, but I could tweak the stats to make it more difficult.
Appreciate you playing it right through a couple of times.

Yeh if I make this into a non-jam game I'll use real models/animations etc.
cheers

Interesting game, but 2 points

1. Put some sort of FPS limit (vsync maybe), it overheated my GPU generating 2000fps

2. If possible, make a webgl build, usually results in more reviews in the game jam (and will also solve above issue).

Good luck in the jam!

Developer

I've limited it to 60fps now, thanks for letting me know it was running faster.
Having trouble getting a webgl build to work this time, but will keep trying.
cheers
