Smashing Pumpkins

My bare-bones HTML play in browser 2d platformer is ready for play testing!

Hello all,

I just submitted my bare-bones version for an opportunity for you to play-test and give me some feedback that I can implement before the jam ends.  I've implemented a checkpoint system and the Trick or Treat mechanics that will occur at level 2.  I'll be working on a more levels and a JSON level loader that will allow the community to create their own levels.  These updates (along with possible ideas you provide) should be completed and updated before the jam ends.

In this game you simply traverse a large play area through runs, jumps and using moving and disappearing platforms with the goal of smashing all the pumpkins in the arena and then exiting to the void that takes you to the next level.

hello I tried your game and there were some things I liked but it is also quite confusing. I think you are trying to do too much with the shift key. most platform games vary jumping based on how long you hold down the jump key maybe you could implement that. I like the way that the standard attack doesn't work on certain enemies, maybe it would be good if there was a visual cue to show this. eg they have a shield and perform a counter-attack.

It looks good though and I like the sound effects BUT THE TV IS TOO LOUD :)

Thanks for your feedback, I'll see what I can do in the next 24 hours, though I might just decide to implement some other things on my list, but of course your suggestions are right on point, thanks again -- by the way, <F> will silence the fuzz noise.

Happy to help. Good luck with your game. If you have a few minutes please have a go on my game. Here is the early feedback post:
