I echo some of the sentiment already expressed here...
I was hooked in the beginning, referring to old greek mythology about time and the universe etc. and the way you start with the hero, very compelling rpg material. This could be a cool story-driven experience.
I loved the art and overall style as well.
My criticism, or rather hopefully constructive feedback: The controls just seemed a bit chaotic. the arrangement of the buttons we have to use seemed challenging. The addition of the "time clone" didn't make things easier, as the same button was used (which we then had to remember it turned from a defensive move to an offsensive one). I didn't quite understand. Does the main guy have any battle skills or what??
I felt like time wasn't part of the gameplay element. Though don't get me wrong, it works fine as a story element, but the way you describe the time clone... it just doesn't convince as a time-related thing. It's just a clone. What would be cool for example is if you allowed the clone to immediately replay the previous attack(s)?Or something similar. or the clone makes the time rewind so you both attack him at same time etc.
So, yeah, I didn't spend too much time on the game after the first battle, I didn't even beat the guy! I could only attack but not defend well when I was the clone, I could only defend when I was the normal guy :)
I am not sure how long the game is, or what the story is like, but I do hope you make a real project out of it because it feels like you are good story tellers. I just think you still need to find your unique fun gameplay mechanic!
Really well done on look sounds. The combat was a little one dimensional, but the story hooked me anyway!
Great job! Art style is lovely and the game was fun :)
Cheers!
Love the art style and the enviroment. Great Job!
Hi, thank you for your submission to our jam. The rules state you must also include your project files (source and everything else needed to compile the game locally). Please edit your submission to include a zip file with your source or else I will unfortunately have to delete this entry.
my friend has done programming, i think he included it in the game zip? if not i'll ask him to send me and i'll update it asap, thanks for the advice
