Really cool to see a fully 3D game! The big selection of abilities is great and adds to the replay value. If I had to make one critique I'd say reduce the size of the levels substantially, maybe even just a small arena. I ended up getting lost trying to find the next objective more often than not, and running out of abilities. Very ambitious for a game jam however, lots of content packed in here! Good stuff!
Yea, the size was tricky to figure out. The wolf level is probably too big right now even though I decreased the size by about 30-40% from the initial map. I did the same with the zombie level, which came out better regarding size I think.
Thanks for the feedback!
The game is a bit hard, I had trouble winning stages myself. After some feedback from friends, I tried adding more tips and tutorial text so it is a bit easier to get into it.
Yea, the overuse mechanic is a bit too harsh and I was thinking about how to alleviate it, but in the end, I had no time to implement any solution. One way I wanted to do it is that when you overuse an ability another similar type ability replaces it, so you still have four abilities, even if they are not perfect for the stage.
I really enjoyed this game, the mechanics and the graphics! even though I was super bad at it. It made me think about strategies to use the skills and not die, plus the different goals of each stage kept me looking forward to the next stage. Personally, I would like it to be a little more flexible with the number of times a skill is overused, something like you can't use it for 5 min or so or at least that the skills deals a little more damage because even if I used the power up skill I was not able to kill too many monsters before the skill was overused and most of the times I overused my best skill and soon after that I just let the monsters kill me because I would not be able to kill them without that skill.
Overall, a really good game! great work!
