Hello! I recently saw this event listed on GitHub and it has caught my eye. I consider myself a beginner-intermediate programmer and I am willing to contribute as much as I can to a team! My preferred programming language is Java, however I like to keep an open mind and would not mind joining a team that is doing something else. What I would ultimately like to get out of this event is more programming experience and to just have fun!!

For your skill level, I would recommend trying out the Unity 3D  game engine. This is where a lot of people get started with game development since it's for the most part easy to use and there are a lot of resources on the internet to help you along the way. Since it'll be your first game don't think you'll be making the next Red Dead Redemption.  Start off with something small that works and be proud of it!
