Very interesting visual novel! I included it in my Fuck Capitalism Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)
Visual Novels are really not my thing, but I felt like this was relatively well done. I liked the length, pacing, and it didn't feel like there was any wasted time. I usually end up just clicking quickly through most of the dialogue until I see something that looks interesting, but I actually read the vast majority of the dialogue here!
I think the story could use a little more depth, but it worked great for the jam and the conflation of religion and capitalism worked very well!
Really good take on the whole "heaven, but capitalism" twist, I enjoyed the art style and music a lot. I think I got all the endings, at least I got everything that was in the gallery - I really liked the end confrontation and the possible outcomes, highlighting how meaningless individual anger and violence becomes in the face of a system that can easily adapt to it. I agree, that an additional ending where the whole of heaven unites in solidarity would have been a powerful addition, but even as it is - Amazing work!
Ahh! I'm glad that my point came across well. I find that corporate hierarchies tend to promote a cohesive, almost "family-like" environment, but in actuality, is very much oppressive, and the actions of a single individual can hardly hurt the "machine" as a whole. Personally, capitalism to me, hurts the individual the most, it creates a constant cycle that perpetuates anger and resentment for the "other" so I hope that came through lol. If you can't beat them, sadly, most people join them or give up.
And yessss, it would be fantastic to have an alternative union route. I really appreciate all the good feedback coming through! Thank you ^^
its pretty interesting to see a corporate structure applied to religious mythology

i really loved this and the routes! was a bit sad you had to kill all your coworkers haha -- if you want to work on this more, i think a worker's solidarity option where you rise up together could be fun :)
Oooh that's a good idea. I was also torn on adding another option that would allow you to fight Literal God/the big corpo at the end in like a battle sequence but I ran out of time and energy :'')) Mann, now I feel like an alternative union route would've been fire.
Oh well, there's always a next time :) Thanks for the feedback.
while that would have been sick and i would have played the hell out of it, resting instead of finishing it up is the one of the ultimate forms of anti-capitalism, so really, you're killing it on all fronts
