I found this game to be very high quality! Great job!

I got the blue slime the first time around. I really enjoyed this game and I  could see it turning into a kind of 2d slime rancher type game! Really good job! :)

The art and sound were INCREDIBLE. The game looked and sounded sooo good!

After three tries I couldn't manage to get the stats right. I think this is just because all the items are randomized and there are more things that increase stats than things that decrease stats.

You're gifted with art and sound! Great work!

Those visuals!  This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing games in the jam, beautiful scenery and characters and effects.  Very similar to Mr Brush, but seems like a lot of the games in this jam are.  I couldn't figure out why being good to the egg didn't make it golden, or how the golden rule ties in here, but who cares... for a 48 hour jam this was awesome :)

Thanks so much! Yeah, not my usual style but Thomas’s art tutorials made me want to give it a try. I never really managed to get that clean, simple style to look good before, so I was quite pleased with this. Thanks for playing!

P. S. You don’t have to be good to the egg, you have to be both good and bad in roughly equal measure to keep both stats in the golden zone - hence golden rule ;)

Super neat game! Beautiful art work and I love the music. I will admit I was really frustrated at first. The right red meter skyrocketed and I couldn't get it to come down. I eventually had to just shut the game down and restart it again. Then I had better luck keeping it down. And I finally hatched the golden slime! YAY! :) Just a few little notes: Often the space bar "interaction" wouldn't work on the egg. I had to move around, try again, back up move forward try again, etc. And the dialog switched too quickly. I am a fairly quick reader and I barely finished reading by the time it switched to the next part of the text. Really, really awesome dialog system though! And so funny too! I wanted to see all the different things they would say. Awesome job! Love the leaves falling, that's probably my favorite part ;)

Thanks so much! Appreciate the feedback, it’s super accurate. And that’s good to know about the dialogue speed, I was actually worried it was too slow, but I’m a skim reader haha. Thanks for playing!

Edit: the dialogue system is indeed awesome, but I can’t take credit for it, it was made by the amazing Pixel Crushers. I totally recommend it. Best asset on the store imo (and it’s recommended in FTGD).

Beautiful game, couldn't figure out how to get the egg the guy wanted but the art and idea was pretty good. I would love to know how you made this art, i made the art for purgatory gatekeeper and could use some pointers lol

Developer

Thanks! It was all done in photoshop and spine, and I used a gradient fading in and out on additive mode to make a kind of moving glowy effect. And then added some post processing that I got on the store. But yeah I’m happy to give art pointers anytime if you want them :)

A wonderful game with beautiful art and a familiar feeling reminiscent of Tamogatchi. A really complete feeling and wonderfully polished. Great job!

Definitely a fun little game! :D
The art looks good, and I really enjoyed the dialogue! (The professor was great). x3

I couldn't find a way to get both meters to go down at once — I kinda overshot my mark multiple times in both meters, and it didn't seem possible to correct my error.  :c

There doesn't seem to be a way to exit the game, though. (Task Manager does work wonders, however).

Thanks! I’m glad you liked him, maybe he’ll make an appearance in a future game.

You’re right, I didn’t add enough items that lower the stats so it’s really easy to get them both stuck too high ;_; and yeah, I forgot to add in a close option. But as you say, there’s always task manager. Thanks for playing!

He he, no problem!  :D

I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next! (Whether or not it's another Game-Jam game... Who knows!)  :)

Lovely game! Great art and clever use of the theme! Little bit frustrating when trying to find the right spot to trigger the dialogues, but fun nonetheless.

Thanks! I know ;_; the colliders weren't doing what I wanted but I ran out of time haha. Thanks for playing :)
