What I had in mind when I wrote the rule is for something like:
The grass in the park grows in a strange pattern. I bet a cryptid is responsible.
There's a funny sculpture in the mall. What if it comes to life every night to prank the security guard?
As a teenager, my friends and I dared each other to perform strange occult rituals we found on the internet, and nothing happened. But what if those rituals actually worked?
You can create your own folklore, myths and urban legends, but they should be somewhat rooted in a culture you are part of or a place you belong.
There's a great example of what WH brings up in the submissions, actually! Also my own Rooster and Owl has the folklore vibe of one of my backgrounds without being based in a specific folklore.
