it's nice to find someone who also uses rpg maker like me. but unfortunately I don't play this game.

Ha ha, yeah, I love how easy it is to use but unfortunately not so easy to access.  Someone posted a video of it on my page, so if you want to see it it's there. thanks for keeping me posted on my failures.

Maybe you can use VX Ace for make game on next time. To avoid RTP problems.

Developer

I plan on using MZ at some point

But I am going to take a short break for a bit. I was also thinking about teaming up with people or selling pixel art assets.  we shall see

I saw your game in one of the "Share progress" thingys earlier and decided to check it out.
I managed to start it but it was not very convenient.
Now, i don't really know anything about Mr. Limpet, so i can't appreciate the story in a way a fan would, but i liked it.
Visual style is by far the best part of this game.
And walking around is kind of tedious and slow. There is no reason in allowing players to walk on both axis when paths are pretty much linear. I missed a trigger a couple of times because i walked down a bit.

ok thank you for letting me know it worked and the constructive criticism. I see this game as more of a rough draft(like every game I've made)  as far as the movement with the character the step above that is just too quick and doesn't look right... Trust me I would like him to move faster. As far as him walking around idk I want to do more with it but I'm only  one pretty inexperienced individual and I only had a couple days to do it and I'm kinda trying to get rid of a migraine I got  because of the tunnel vision i got working on it. But I see your point and agree. Thank you!

unfortunately couldnt get it to run either. sad cause it looks amazing. just wanted to say good job though, i am sure you put a lot of effort into it and that shows through the screenshots.

I read your post below. if you are looking for an engine you could try Godot, its free and has a pretty low barrier of entry imho.

Developer

Nooo! :(

Thank you for letting me know.  That bums me out, but I should try to learn how to use another engine anyway. Can you or anyone else point me in the right direction? I have tried to learn other engines before (Godot being one of them) and have difficulty teaching myself how to use them- partly due to the fact I don't always have a lot of time. Trying to learn via YouTube is like looking for a recipe online- I want simple instructions and no corky personalities.

If you intend on creating the same kind of games like you would in RPGM then i suggest you stay on RPGM. I presume you just need to find a different version or edition or something because i played a ton of RPGM games and most of them work fine without any of the prerequisite shenanigans. I don't use RPGM myself so i don't know for sure. But if you are open to create something different of in a different way Godot and Unity are basicaly your only options. They are popular and relatively simple to use. Though you should learn coding on C# to use them.

yeah I want the lastest version but my budget is too tight right now. I will eventually get to it.

RTP installation file before you run the game.

Alternatively, you can find the files online and then run the game. RPG Maker VX is a fairly old program and isn't so easy to distribute anymore,

it is an old program it's all I know how to use for now unfortunately. :( my buddy played it last night with no issues but he has that installed.

Couldn't run the game. Says that  RGSS202E.dll could not be found. When you zipped up your game you forgot the 'dlls'. SDL2 Framework is the same way

Couldn't run it; first it threw an error that RGSS202E.dll couldn't be found, and when I downloaded that, it said RPGVX RTP couldn't be found. :(
