Notes (optional)
The Mother Fish is the sacred guardian of the heart of the ocean. However, her forbidden love with an ordinary male fish led to her banishment from the kingdom. Despite this, she remains the inheritor of the ocean's heart. The Octopus seeks to harness the power of the ocean's heart for his own gain, kidnapping the Mother and forcibly separating the heart from her body. This unleashes chaos, shattering the ocean's heart and causing irreversible pollution. Fish lose their sanity, and the kingdom is overturned. In a moment of sacrifice, the protagonist's father shields them from the heart's fragmentation, absorbing most of its energy and becoming corrupted. The Mother, now separated from her heart, slips into eternal slumber. Desperate to revive her, the protagonist learns from a wizard that collecting the fragments of the ocean's heart can bring her back. Determined, they embark on a journey through the polluted ruins.

It was a cool concept, but I felt that the player experience was lacking. I collected the last items on the last level, but nothing seemed to happen. The walls are really tall compared to the player character, making it hard to see the beams of light in the sky, although they are viewable from the reflections in levels 2 and 3. It is also really hard to differentiate breakable and unbreakable walls, especially on level 3, where I didn't see any ruins textures. The lighting is also iffy, because smacking face-first into walls when trying to break them also causes your vision to go dark, making it hard to tell where you are. I wish there was an option to turn off the snarky commentary because it was demotivating. I thought the enemy models were very nice, though. It was kind of weird that they moved like roombas (especially the jellyfish) but I liked the use of lighting on them.

Thanks a lot for the long comment! I ran out of time adjusting the camera on each wall, which made the reflections too high for the player. I will make further adjustments next week. We were inspired by the mirror maze in Rental and Zelda. Hence, the wall was purposefully made tall to restrain the view. I will extend the light beams for better indication.  The 3rd level was made 100% out of mirror for greater difficulty, and yeah, it needs more refinement based on suggestion feedback, Thanks again! The commentary was inspired by "Getting Over It "'s voiceover, which is demotivating but was part of the story design (the fish  wizard who does not believe that our protagonist can collect the Ocean Heart; it was part of the character design.) More story background in the next update. We ran out of time creating animation for the fish; we will get to it someday.

The atmosphere is incredible, good job incorporating horror with fish. Nice game!

It's really great! This first view includes dark environments, realistic walls and reflected mirrors that are frightening. Maybe I didn't research it thoroughly, and it was a little cumbersome to just use the mouse to turn the Angle of view. And you can add more beginner guides! .

Thank you for the comment! Happy that you enjoyed our game. Yeah, the game needs more playtests to find the suitable camera angle, Working on it~

I liked the “comic” on the game’s page. In the game I really didn’t understand what to do. Found some hidden/destroyable walls with some potions I couldn’t pick up, and the thor hammer that I did not know what to use for. I think the lighting and materials on the walls can be improved for a better experience. Congrats on the game.

Developer

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! We did not explain enough of the gameplay for players; hence, UI and further explanations about the story will be added after the week. The hammer was used to break the walls, and the potion can be collected once per time by pressing 'e'.  Lighting and the environment are key things we will fix later.

Wow! This game really feels like a fever dream, especially with the cool mirror reflection walls you have, I don't know many first person games that let you see your reflection so that was a nice touch. I also agree with the other person that the art you added to the itch page was a really nice touch! The only the feedback I have is I felt sometimes the lighting made it difficult to tell where I was going, which might be what you are going for, but it also meant I was just picking random directions hahaha. Great game overall!

Thanks a lot for the comment! We hope you enjoyed playing our game~ The lighting was made purposefully to create a horror and intense atmosphere, and I agree that navigating around can be difficult. (which was part of the gameplay which  goes along with the mirror maze)

I loved the lore and art you posted along with the game, and I would have loved to see it implemented in the game somehow! I also liked the wall-breaking mechanic once I understood the pillars of light showing where things were. I couldn't figure out how to pick up potions, but that was fine because I ended up being able to just walk past the enemies, so maybe a hitbox adjustment is in need there. Really cool concept, great job to the whole team!

Thank you for the comment, we will try out your game and comment ASAP! We fixed the issues you mentioned and hope you can try the game next week after the rating session.

For people who are timid but want to play horror games, this is just right. I really like the design of the underwater maze, where at every turn you can encounter the pursuit of "love".
