Cool game with an old console vibe. I like how David kept saying everything but the required phrase "kept you waiting" until the very end. Found the ending a bit abrupt, but otherwise enjoyed the game. I appreciated the different fighting method that required you to think a bit more, but still was understandable.
Thanks for playing! Glad you jived with it. The abrupt ending was out of neccesity, as I came up against the deadline and had to cut some corners to get it over the finish line. The original plan for the ending was to cut to Fred and Eliza being blasted out of the cave and into the water before ending with Harold, Marsha, and David talking about their time as heroes and their retirement before going back into the shack. If I ever do one final update for this game, I'll add that in along with some final bug fixes.
I wondered if it was a deadline issue. Congrats on finishing. I tried to make a Harold submission, but over scoped and did not finish in time. Maybe another year.
Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 7! My name's Hythrain and I'm one of the hosts and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!
So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.
Fun, silly comedy and a make-sense method of combat? I like it a lot. No notes, ten-oudda-ten.
Managed to catch the tail end of your playthrough and I'm planning to watch the rest later. I'll be honest and say I was a little frustrated putting a whole week into bug fixes for FQ7 over other priorities with so little return on investment, but seeing your live reaction was so worth it. Glad you liked it!

Honestly, this was one of the most fun games thanks to its comedy.
Clever systems, funny, (aside from a few MGS memes that I didn't understand) and nails the Game Boy visual + auditory motif convincingly.
Great to see a definitive edition for this, and I hope to see these concepts used in a larger project in the future!
HINT HINTThanks Moog, always the homie. I think the battle system is a strong foundation but needs a serious overhaul. I ideally want to add many more types of attacks and find a way to replace hints with visual cues.
The music is fun and catchy. The game itself is going for a comedy vibe that I wasn't expecting and is not my style, likewise the story was a little hard to follow as it makes pop culture references. Overall the game had a fun vibe and if I was into that type of comedy then this game would be a recommendation for me. I wish the developer the best of luck with this project!
Appreciate it! This game was made for a game jam in another community so there's a ton of in-jokes that may be lost on FQ7 testers. I do have my doubts about the story structure as a whole, but I'll leave it there.
Note: Please download the FQ7 build when playing this game! This fixes some serious bugs in the original version which included softlocks that are very easy to trigger! I'm still testing the FQ7 version, so let me know if you run into any bugs. I also think this game could be a foundation for something bigger and would appreciate feedback on what to improve!
