I am going through all submissions to make all developers aware of an important Google form I've made.

I'm joining the IQ folks to help organize smaller events in between the main FQ event in order to help prevent us from getting too many games in main events. Right now, I have a planned structure for these events but I would like to hear from everyone who was in this event in order to tune things better. The survey is a bit long, but it covers as much as I could think of. If you can take the time to do the survey by June 1st, I would immensely appreciate it!

You can find the form here: https://forms.gle/P9LPYwERhJtpZzteA

Hello from tonight's stream!

As I've been going through all of the other games submitted before you, I kept looking through the list and seeing this game near the end. Something about it just got me excited and wanting to play it. I had no idea what to expect, and once I did I was very much loving this. For it to be a typing game about fairy tales, I fell in love with it very quickly.

I preface all of this because there were numerous things that I think slow this game from being released upon the completion of the game with a variety of importance.

The least important one was a floating moose friend. Our friend wants to have his hooves on the ground please.

After that comes being confused by the "classic version of Cinderella" because Cinderella technically dates back as far as 7 BC. In that regard, it would be important to include more to describe it. Because my brain went "Okay, Disney version is two. But hold on, they're not the classic version. Okay, so what is it in the classic version? ... Wait, I've never read the classic version nor ever knew who wrote it at all. Where was it written?! I need to look it u- WAIT, EGYPT?!" Finding what I needed was harder than it might seem. XD

When jumping, every jump plays the exact same sound. If you spam jump, it plays it for every press. This should be toned down to not be every jump and to even have some variations.

Books should just automatically collect upon completion. Since they already stop you, the player can easily assume that once they finish it, they're done with it. I know I made this one. XD

On two separate occasions, the game froze on me. Both times were when I was running near an object and would be forced to interact with it. However, the interaction didn't show on screen initially as its physical location in the world is off screen. However, I couldn't move the camera with my mouse to see it or do anything else or hear anything else to confirm my actions.

The option to run should just be the default. At no point did I ever actually need to not be running. This essentially means you're holding run forever. Given that bugs also occur in some circumstances that glitch the run and leave it, it would be better to solve both issues by just removing the run and making it the default speed.

I have found two different typos within the game. For a game that relies on story and typing, I feel it's really important to squash every single typo.

And finally, it absolutely needs a pass at graphic optimization. I had it at the lowest settings possible and I still had framerate issues. Things that didn't need to be on screen by view distance just were, while things that did would just pop into existence at the last second. This needs to be done ASAP because if the game is just going to get bigger, it will result in getting far worse.

I will admit, I'm also being extra rough because of how excited I am about this game. I want to help it see its perfect form.

Land of tales :[Segment Starts] 00:09:20: [ends at. 00:56:30]

Hi! I'm part of feedback quest and I reviewed your game. I'm a Illustrator and a Twitch Streamer by name of "ILYA_N_O_K".  The vod is posted.  Feel free to check it out.

But here are my feedback review so far.  Your game has a lot potential!.  I was intrigued by it. I played almost an hour and i had fun with it.

But I encountered a lot of problems when getting into the game.

-window mode not working - the "save setting" is inside the game not in the main screen menu.

-window mode works when you double click "Full Screen" inside the game menu.

-Some "Resolution" options are broken.

-Loading Screen would be nice when you click the "New Game".  So it wont jump right in right away without confusion.

-A tutorial would be more nicer than reading the note. When getting in the game.

-Add option for "Motion Blur" to be Turned off and on.

-Put a note of how to exit the menu settings [inside the game]

-Can't move when interacting to some of the monsters.

-"Load Progress" Affects the "Game Settings" that you saved. It should only affect the save-points in the game not entire game settings.

-No clear instructions of how to defeat the Monsters

-No interaction from the monsters when the player makes mistake on the typo.

-A incoming battle music for near monsters would be nice. so the player knows when a danger is nearby.

-No fall damage on when you fall. or no fall animation is triggered.

-The words can be just few option of words instead of random words to defeat the enemy.

I have suggestion idea when it comes to deal with Ghouls.

-For Example : Have a Short time Slow motion to help you type the words in time  to defeat them. So its like you don't have to panic when they're about to defeat you. Using to write with the "Feather" and the "Book".  finding "Ink vials" to refill your attack energy to defeat enemies. Use the environment for shield guard for example if they about throw you a boulder or something.

[Example visual is posted below.]

-When collecting books. The typing the words is ok to collect it. I think it would be more nicer to have visual effect when collecting them. I have an idea suggestion . A torn page would be nicer since the objective is to collect the tales you find.

[Example visual is posted below]

- it would nice if you can also read the tales you find.

-The Trees are blinding the player perspective.

-The Grass and Tress can be lessen.

-Unlocking Areas of the map can help. So the player doesn't just wander everywhere.

-No achievement interaction when you interact with stone owl statues after answering the quizzes.

- nothing happens when you collect the chests.

- UI can have some work too.

Thank you for you hard work and good luck for your game journey. There's so many things you can do with this game. I look forward for how the game will turn out in the future.

Great game demo with a good art style and a good music!! I like it!! Good job!!

For me when I played more than 30 minutes then I found lost because I didn’t know what to do, because I was only recollecting ink, books, answering questions and feathers but without any proposal. For make the player want to recollect these objects I will add utility to that objects than you recollect so it have some sense to pick all of them Also than the game guide you a bit more so you know where you have to go will be great too, because you can’t know where to go

For the rest the game is looking great!! I hope you good luck working on it :D

It's a great concept, beautiful world and setup, enjoy the UI art, I like that it has an education vibe for children and adults can enjoy it as well, I would suggest add in meaning of the words we can click and look up after typing it in, and increase on that value. I see the game has a platforming aspect but the character movement still feel limiting, I wonder if you have plans for adding variety of movement to the character such as gliding and sliding? Those would make the traveling more varied and more fun for going around the big world you have.

I haven't really figured out how to get on the platforms yet for collecting some items, if I have time I will revisit.

Picked this up cause the MC is very cute! Overall the game moves well enough in a very big snow world. But I had no idea how to get to the top areas. Graphics were exceptional with atmospheric music. Since I started the game blind, it took me a while to figure out the typing as part of the mechanics. Also, we just sort of start in a random place and I wasn't sure what we were supposed to do. Finding the creatures that explained the game felt like a matter of luck in finding them sooner than later. I was also confused why we were collecting all these items but not sure what to do with it? It made me wonder who is the target audience of this game. The words chosen were rather long, which would probably slow down younger players that might have enjoyed exploring this world. I was also rather concerned with how far down she could jump down and have no issues. At one point I had 3 screens and a map going on at the same time and had trouble trying to figure out how to undo them, especially if the instructions was hidden by a large map on the front layer. Overall I like the graphics most and the monsters looked well designed. Part of me made me wonder if we're supposed to be taught a fairy tale story so we could solve the puzzles in case we didn't know the tale at the time.

Hey thank you so much for playtesting the game, which is still in development. The game isn't aimed at a particular age bracket, to be honest. Because the goal is to allow everyone that pick it up to improve, if possible, their typing skill/speed. The main character cannot take damage (no health bar) however falling from heights when platforming can slow down your progress which is mainly to acquire as many story books that are spread out through the open world. The animals that have exclamation points (where they visible when starting the game?) are there to present the goal to the player. Books are scattered on the ground but most are high up and to get them you'll have to get rid of the ghouls that stand in your way and activating movable platforms. Did you stream/record your playtest by any chance? Thanks any way for the input, it's very appreciated!

No I don't stream. I didn't see the animals immediately. Seems I missed a few play points. *nods* Thanks for the explanation. Good luck with your game development.
