  • Interesting idea, but the execution was lacking in some areas. 1. I thought you could have reduced the gold collecting aspect by a lot. The top chests basically serve no purpose other than to waste time. And there's no reason for there to be 4 chests in each of the bottom rooms. Once you've reached a chest you've basically completed the objective for that room. 2. It's very unclear how the guards' AI works and the game makes no effort to explain it. It seems at first like guards will kill you from 2 tiles away, either straight or diagonal, but in some circumstances they prefer to move next to you instead of killing you. To make matters worse, knowing this trick seems to be the only way to get past some of the guards. 3. It seems there's no way to beat the game? I collected all the chests and then tried to escape but the door was locked, and when I try to open it a second time the game softlocks. There was another time I tried to move closer to a door (not the center one) where it also softlocked. Despite all this I did enjoy figuring out the gimmick and you clearly put significant effort into trying to make it work.
  • The First Heist is a small Roguelite in which you play as a thief with a clear goal: Steal all the gold and escape without being captured. The execution is fine and doable. However, the entry doesn't offer much beyond that, and there is still a few issues, most notably the slowness, the camera shaking during enemy movements everytime and the awkward collisions (you can "pass" turn my moving against a wall, or some chests need only to step on them to open while others need an extra input to collect them). Still, it's a pretty unique entry in the contest and has a good execution, but that's about it.
  • Cool, stealth instead of combat. It's just really hard to appreciate when the game has so many issues of playability, not least the constant screen shaking on the enemy phase and the confusing rules as to what breaks the stealth and what leads to being killed horribly.

Any information the judges should know?
Operates really slowly, so...be aware of that.

For some reason it kept freezing when I move next to a door? Couldn't really manage to get far because of that.

The camera keeps moving x_x
I'm just gonna... close my eyes as the enemies move. Yeah.
Not sure why some chests give me gold as I enter their tile and others as I leave but okay.

I like how she conveniently forgot about me after I went out of the room lol

Okay what the fuck I was right in front of the guard. I guess they're far-sighted.
I tried going back to my hole but it didn't work. I guess I'm supposed to go through the main door but I'm not sure how
Ah, I got the last guard to tail me but I softlocked the game by trying the door a second time. Aww.

I hadn't got the most fun ever, but it was nice.
