I think the core gameplay loop is pretty fun, and it's a nice concept that could be explored and polished further! I would love to see it as a fully polished game.

It seems like when you're hypnotizing enemies, unlike how the guide suggests, you don't actually have to hold down the hypnotize button on them for it to work. If you even just tap the button for a fraction of a second, and then leave, they will still become hypnotized after a second. so I found myself just tapping the button on every enemy quickly, and they would all become hypnotized, which I don't think is the intended mechanic?

It also felt immediately like there were wayyyy too many controls and buttons to use.

This just may be my own personal opinion, but I think punch and kick should be turned into one attack button.

And the two projectiles are cool, but maybe they shouldn't both be available to you right when you start? It just seemed a little overwhelming for a new player to remember it all.

Other than those notes, I think this was a great game, especially for a game jam! So nice work :)

I like the animations, really cool idea and HUD. I like as people said before music and SFX would be a full game in no time. I did have some trouble telling the buildings apart from the ground. Felt like I would get stuck easy walking but had fun shooting bats and stakes.

Good game! I like how the decay mechanics are implemented and I really like the art. It would be nice to add music, sounds and effects. Overall a good project to continue working on.

i am really getting kicked before even killing first few enemies, i would have loved if it was progressive learning when to use each punch kick ext. good job submitting this "૮₍ ˶•⤙•˶ ₎ა

Nice game! I felt like I just used the bats shooting mechanic and not really anything else, to get through the rounds. I did like the idea of downgrading yourself to fit the theme, it's innovative! Good job

Thank you for playing!

Pretty cool game! Very neat take on the theme. The bats were a bit over powered so i used those mainly, and I didnt use the hypnotize mechanic much, because the benefits you gain aren't worth risking the damage you'll take. Also missing SFX and music, would have been way more enjoyable with those. Other than that, the art is great, feels coherent. I survived 6 nights and then the game started lagging when an infinite amount of enemies started spawning and I couldn't kill them in time. Other than that, pretty solid entry.

Thank you for playing and your feedback! The bats definitely were overpowered… LOL.

Interesting take on the genre and the theme.
I don't know why but the R key didn't work for me, is there something to know?

The lack of audio is a bit sad.

Thank you for playing!!

In order to bite, you must first successfully hypnotize. Then the enemy will become blue and not move.

If you were doing that, thennn something broke!

Either way, sorry for the lack of clarity and/or bug

I didn't read everything and didn't notice the "space to hypnotize". So it's not a bug, only a mistake on my part.

Really impressed by this game, was it made solo? Love the HUD, gameplay is nice, visuals are fantastic I really like the aesthetic. At first the decay system confused me and I thought it was weird, but as I played more I realised what you were going for and how it fit into the theme and I think it is super well done.

I would add a basic ambient track though, there are some really good dark fantasy tracks on Pixabay that would have been perfect. Enemies are a bit dumb but I’ve done AI before and it takes more than two days to make well so it is a non issue for me. Hope more people give this a go, great stuff for two days work.

Thank you for playing, and for the review!

The game was done by 2 people, me and my partner. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. For this project we were trying to make ever asset ourselves, and we didn't have the time to make a soundtrack, although simply adding free-use music would most certainly improve the game. A missed opportunity on our part.

Similar case for the ai, since neither of us have done any sort of pathfinding code before, trying to get a smart ai in the limited time we had once we got everything mostly working would probably result in us breaking everything! So, we stuck with what we had. With more time, we certainly would have loved to mess around with them.

Still, glad you enjoyed!

Nice! Very cool gameplay and the art is also very fitting. Only thing missing was maybe a smarter AI they would often get stuck and couldn't find their way to me.

Also I don't know if you just didn't add audio but atleast for me it wasn't sowing u

Thank you for trying the game!

Unfortunately we didn't add any music, it wasn't just on your end. For both the music and ai, we simply just ran out of time.  It would have been very nice if we got them done.

Glad you still had fun!
