  • Very cool little builder game! I think in general the Compy character and main character sprite paired with the main mechanic of destroying and building things with tools fits very well with the theme. The music was a good touch at the beginning but I was definitely hoping I'd hear more of it in the game. The sounds overall were nice, and I enjoyed the simplicity of the mechanics. The target selector icon was a nice touch to make it clear where you will be editing. I found a number of small collision or tile bugs, but it didn't really tarnish the fun. I will say once the game opened up with the hammer, I struggled to figure out how to generate more seeds with the seed maker for some of the other objects. Overall cool game
  • Cute little Stardew-like. Crushingly high in ambition for a Game Jam and Pico-8 as a platform. But it achieves pleasant highs despite of this.
  • This was a large task to take on for this jam and I am very impressed that you pulled it off. There is so much you can do in this already and it feels great to get through the introductory tasks and rewarded with the freedom to build and customize the island as you wish, which I didn't expect the game to turn into. Well done!
  • I genuinely couldn't believe how many different features are packed in here ! I got stuck looking for a core , it would have been nice for some variation in quest type too- I felt like I was doing a lot of back and fowards , maybe being able to finish quests and start dialogue away from the sign would have helped with that . The inventory screen is super slick and usable , and the minimap on the top is just about the perfect size !
  • Adherence to Theme and Creativity: 3 You have some nice ideas here, but the robot part is just a superficial skin I feel. This could be just a random villager who makes his tools to get better over time. Gameplay Innovation and Enjoyment: 4 Progress over a tech tree and gather stuff to build stuff. Nothing extraordinary, but it works and works for a reason. It is enjoyable to get better over time and unlock more to do. Also farming. We love some farming Technical Execution and Presentation: 4 I have nothing to say that throws me off. Building could have an explanation on what they do, but otherwise I feel that everything is in place after the fix of the save bug as that is something that you NEED in a long game like this. Starting over every time just feels bad. Please do a better F7 splash art, and give me some background music.

The presentation of this is great, all the the sprites were lovely, the HUD was great, nice minimap, nice dialogue boxes (I appreciated the fact you could skip the text scroll--nice attention to detail.) The robot theme felt a little bit superficial, apart from a couple of sprites it just felt like a regular villager/crafting kind of game. There was lots of actions the player could take, the inventory system worked well, all of the information for the player was really well presented and easy to understand. The missions the player gets felt a little bit linear, maybe I didn't play for long enough but I was surprised not to get into a resource gathering/crafting loop. I can't believe you started off working with Pico-8 by joining the 1k jam--you absolute nutcase :D Great entry, nice work! :)

so much work.... amazing

Thanks, it was fun having the constraints,  there is so much more that I wanted  in the game.  I think the current game only has 1/3 of the sprites in it. the code  was left readable over optimized , hence the game isn't feature complete. still fun I think, and works for the village building. I got hung up on saving, never quite worked right. Will dabble with it a little more over time.
